I was watching "top model" last night (MY WIFE WANTED TO WATCH IT SO NO GIVING ME SHIT)

and MUCH TO MY SURPRISE, I saw a Nike Joga TV commercial. Ronaldinho playing futsal.
I couldn't believe it! No TV game on. Nothing!
I'm a nike hater, but man, God Bless nike for pushing the sport on prime time TV even if they are selling their gear at the same time!

I am sorry, but first listing Brian Ching as top scorer in the MLS this year, and now watching Top Model. Hiliarious.
I saw that commercial on late last night. Its pretty sick. the moves Ronaldinho pulls. Its alot better than their last commercial that airs on FSC every five minutes.

Yea I saw that today too, while I was watching coneheads on Comedy central. I really was amazed and I was actually thinking about posting a topic about it before I saw this. I think I saw it 2 or 3 times while the movie was on.

I still haven't seen anything on regular TV, but I'm still hoping for that day. My guess is Nike is starting to drum up some soccer support in time for the 2006 World Cup.

I saw the commercial while watching the Simpsons. Nice job by Nike to show the beautiful game to America. Good choice in commercial as well.

Early in the season. The 4 goals will go along way, but its still early.
But I was wrong, and I ate my words as soon as I saw the result come up. Good pick, josh.

LOL. Yeah, I know, early in the season. I still think Ruiz is the most likely. But since you gave me crap about it, I couldn't resist rubbing your nose in it.

Honestly, these commercials have been a gift from Heaven because at work, all I can talk about his soccer... All the guys at work were telling me that they saw the commercial, I work at wal-mart, so one of the guys decides that he wants to try some of the stuff Ronaldinho was doing in the commercial, funny stuff, but great for getting interest in soccer over here in the states... People over here like flash, they don't watch soccer b/c they think it's boring... After watching some of the MLS games I agree... Good to have some of the more skillful players showing them what they can do with a soccer ball... This is my example to you, The AND 1 mixtapes are making lots of money... Commercials, video games, shows on tv... And one of the best players went to the NBA where he isn't nearly one of the best players in the league... What I'm saying is it doesn't matter if professional or not, people want to see stuff that's exciting... That's why the And 1 tapes are doing so well...

While it is great the Nike is advertising football to the mainstream audience in North America, the Joga commercials don't exactly scream "WATCH FOOTY NOW" to the average sports fan.
At least it is a start I suppose.

I saw that this morning, pretty funny when Sheva says "i will tell them" or something like that. But It also got me thinking, Schevchenko plays for AC Milan...dont they call it Calcio there?

I was watching the Arsenal Champions League match when I saw an awesome adidas commercial. The two kids chose all of the adidas sponsored players and the even digitaly put Platini and Bekenbauer into the match.
It is very interesting, but anyone that doesn't watch socer would have no idea who the players are.

Yes, all 64 games will be aired on ESPN, ESPN 2 or ABC. If your relatives have basic cable or better you're set.
