It could be any shirt with rangers stuff on it.
If we're to get a new top at all, i reckon it will look a bit like the England away.

Yeah you prob will, umbro usually use the same template for a couple of teams

New Rangers kit will be blue (sic.)
Will have a St. Andrews cross where the St. George's cross is on the Eng-Er-Lund strip

Will look good, and hopefully Umbro Quality
Allan.
Apr 4 2006, 04:34 PM
^^^
Exactly like i meant, we could have the Rangers lion on it, like they have the England Lion on their, wrapping around the side, it will be top class.

that one does look really really rubbish! i seriously hope that it isn't the new kit as that whole retro thing is depressingly horrible to look at!

love how Umbro steal all Nike's ideas with the logo on the collarbone lol
btw what happened to Rangers makin all their own kits ? thought that was meant to be so much more profitable

It was since the club made and distributed everything through the club shop, and over the 4 years they have been doing it the club has reported record profits for it

Since the club merchandise is now through JJB, the operation suddenly became less profitable, and Umbro stepped in and offered £x per year in order to make the kits, after losing the Chelsea contract

May 3 2006, 10:19 AM
I'd also like to add the new kit is out on the 8th of June, and is available for pre-order through JJB
Allan.
May 3 2006, 01:08 PM
It looks good, but a bit plain, i like plain toops but i'm not sure just seems plain but i like the shoulders. Does the white thing on the shoulders wrap around the back? Kind of looks like it does.

Training gear is fucking awesome..
New store on Argyle street is very smart, was lined with Strips today

Umbro badge looks alright, but the stars and badge on the back are very funky, don't know whether to ruin it or not now with a number
.......I would get it but i would wait until the likes of Giuly , Govou ,Clement , AND WEBSTER lol sign
CaptainCarrots
Jun 9 2006, 05:26 AM
The Sleeves are also strangely tight...
Classic little rubber bit though near the bottom of the strip with "Official Rangers Product" with a Union Flag and Saltire on it
Allan.
Jun 11 2006, 09:54 AM
I noticed that the sleeves are tight when some cove wore it at work yesterday, on Dado in the picture they don't look as tight as they actually are.
Yep there tight alot of people are just buying a size bigger , Also are the sleeves on the training gear tight ...towards anyone who has bought the training gear
CaptainCarrots
Jun 12 2006, 06:38 AM
I just bought the same size...
Doesn't bother me in the slightest, until I start going to the gym again and my sleeves end up rippling like the Hulk

Are the Nos and the badges all the same
CaptainCarrots
Jun 14 2006, 04:36 AM
The numbers will have Bank of Scotlands premierleague logo on them, as opposed to just SPL...
As for the badges, i'd assume they stay the same
Cool ...someone said the top is £30 in sports soccer is this true ....
Allan.
Jun 14 2006, 10:43 AM
More than likely, when I got my Dutch shirt their for the same price whereas my mate got it for £45(ripped off) in another shop...
CaptainCarrots
Jun 14 2006, 01:31 PM
Buy it in JJB and fund PLG's transfer kitty....It's only £36 in JJB anyway
Whats the diffrence but how will rangers loose out if were contracted to jjb the money goes to jjb as all were getting is 18M for 10 years ...

£18million GUARANTEED.....
The rest is on sales bonuses per year, which should net Rangers easily £3million a year......
£3million is a lot of money per year to be making, and thats a minimal target, according to Rangers...
Buy direct-ish

Under the terms of the contract, which will bring Rangers an initial lump sum payment of £18 million and a minimum annual income of £3 million over the next ten years, JJB will sell the club's merchandise at their 439 outlets throughout the United Kingdom. Rangers will earn more than the minimum £3 million a year if certain sales figures are exceeded. That first payment of £18 million will be made on 7 June, when the new team kit goes on public sale
- Scotsman
So seems we have had our £18 Million pumped in already, but we may see little of that for transfers as its getting pumped into reducing the debts and facilities although i would expect some of it to go into transfers because David Murray Claimed PLG was getting significantly more money than Mcleish and eck has had a little money so i would expect maybe no more than £8M but hey, im not part of the staff so I wouldnt know and weve had no official press conference from PLG unless you have Rangers World
CaptainCarrots
Jun 15 2006, 06:02 AM
Yeah...
We only have a debt of £15million or so now anyway, which is easily manageable

PLG will get as much money as is required in my opinion, however, I wouldn't expect lots to be spent this summer....
The JJB deal could be excellent considering Rangers were making £5million a year from the shops due to making the kit themselves, the detail of the Umbro contract hasn't came out yet, that has to be at least £2million a year, so blammo, there's the £5million already
I have saw the top for the first time in PERSON today a bit dissapointed the stitching looks poor on it and also i was wondering what the wee red circle thing is on the back ..havent worn it but the material doesnt seem that great . It is alot thinner i thought we would of had the same material as chelsea have in their tops
CaptainCarrots
Jun 15 2006, 11:20 AM
Last season's Umbro template for Chelsea can't be comparable to the new one mate

The red circle on the back is to do with the thermal technology in the kit.
I personally don't see a problem with the kit, but each to their own

I see it has an Umbro diamond instead of the writing which must mean that Umbro are making it. Another of Murray's plans out the window.
Also on my mates, the scotland flags stitching came off on the 1st day, is this like this on all the tops?

Yeah, but as soon as the Rangers shops finished, there was no financial viability of making it ourselves, as we would have to distribute to JJB

I don't know about the stitching, I haven't worn mines yet
Allan.
Jun 15 2006, 11:58 AM
Nope, i don't have it, but thats the first thing i've heard about that before. I'm sure it was a rare occasion as it would have been in the papers.
The stiching looks poor and that is an honest and frank opinion , i understand we cant compare the chelsea template to this years but in quality of material . The material this season seems a bit ..well not great to be honest i porbally will buy it , I think top looks better on the screen on your computer than in person !
Allan.
Jun 15 2006, 01:26 PM
Am vice vera to you F6, I hated it when it was released, well not hate it but thought it was a little bland, it should be somewhere in this thread, but after seeing it i prefer it now.
FlippinEck
Jun 15 2006, 04:25 PM
put it this way, the material wont be as bad as the 04/05 top, that was one of the first in our history, the Diadora one with red arrows on the shoulders. The blue wasnt nice and everything caught the shirt and there were always little thread rips in it, IMO the worst, nothing can be as bad as that one? Surely not umbro
CaptainCarrots
Jun 16 2006, 04:10 AM
Since Umbro are making it now, every Umbro team has the same kind of top, quality and stitching.....
If Umbro have wanted to go that way, fine...I personally don't see any issue with it at all?
Allan.
Jun 16 2006, 03:32 PM
JJB are quite poor with the pre-orders, my mate still hasn't gotten his pre-ordered shirt, don't think anyone on the Island have got it if they pre-ordered it, only the people who have bought it in town or on another online store whereas if you pre-ordered it last season or the seasons before you would have it the day before they came out...
I just got in a wee moody the other day i probally will get it but my first impression wasnt great but when i put the shirt on with my name and number on the back it will probally give that extra wee seal of approval
