what do the 3 stars mean at the top of the logo??
Our 3 wold cup victories. 
Seriously though? I don't have a clue. I doubt they represent anything other than the fact that our national flag has stars on it.

I don't really think it means anything other than a reference to our flag and the 50 stars.
I can't be sure but the reason might be that US soccer has had three names in its history.
1913-1944- U.S. Football Association
1945-1973- U.S. Soccer Football Association
1974-Current- U.S. Soccer Federation
Just a guess, could be wrong though.
