Well, I've never been either( my parents have). I heard its amazing. Going there and Quebec City. Supposed to be lot of French influence.
Where in France?
10 minutes from Spain. Around Biarritz.
I was born and raised in Paris so....the difference might shock me a little but Im still happy about it. Need to start looking forward in my life instead of backwards with what went wrong after the hurricane and then everything just falling apart in my life :/

Yea, Katrina was tough on a lot of people. At least you'll get a clean slate to have a fresh start in France.
Born and raised in Paris.........now I understand your love for PSG

I speak french fluently aswell. I am from Canada, afterall Actually, speaking of France, my sister's living there right now working as an au pair (nanny) for a little girl, right outside Geneva. My mom went to visit her a couple of weeks ago and they went to Paris for the weekend. That's when my mom got me the Lyon and PSG shirts, Ze. I'm so jealous of them both. I would love to go anywhere in Europe; doesn't matter where. My dad and I are taking a German course, so hopefully by the end of it i'll be trilingual and possibly live in Deutschland for a year or so after highschool.
EDIT: crazy, I imagine they probably do tours and stuff, which wouldn't be as cool as getting to walk around in it freely, but still, very cool.

Im living in a bowl filled with a racist/ignorant population and corrupt politicians, hurricanes are just around the corner, theres no levees, the flooding reached my backyard after katrina and hurricane Rita destroyed my house the next week, ive been robbed twice, gone to about 6 different school getting suspended from 4 (dont ask), etc etc...so much more to list.
Living here just sucks now...you never know when you might be gunned down for no reason and when you will lose your house, not only that but you also have no healthcare meaning no adequete (sp?) treatment in the time you need it....theres also NOTHING to do during the summer.
Get the picture now?

yeah, sorry its been so bad for you man
its soo great to leave america for the summer each year and go to germany because ive been off school for 5 days and its so goddamn boring and if i would have to stay here for the whole summer i wouldnt know what the hell id do with myself
if i could, id move to germany in a heartbeat

It sounds like a pretty bad place to live. That's certainly something the media aren't covering. To be honest, I had never even heard about all the crime and such, just sap stories about celebrities donating money (ie. Oprah) and doing primetime specials (ie. Dr. Phil). I can imagine France would be a much better quality of life compared to what you have at the moment. Either way, I hope you and your family find a way to achieve that.
BTW, is that Gisele Bundchen in your ava? mmmmmmm
Ze98
Jun 11 2007, 10:55 PM
yes it is hahaha.
and as of late the crime hasnt been as bad as usual (still at least 3 murders a week ), because a couple weeks back they raided some gun shop that was illegaly using Police IDs to order more weapons and supplying them to the city's criminals, something like 70% of gun crimes in the city had the guns from their...so, that was good.
But the crime is insane sometimes. Somedays you wake up, turn on the news, and see that like 5 people were murdered during the night...Its sick. It fuels me wanting to move even more.
Theres been so much shit lately that were all (my family) just like "fuck it, lets go for good".

America's got so many problems. I honestly wouldn't want to be living in any country other than Canada. People that don't live here (even people that do, for that matter) don't realise how good we've got it. We don't have to worry about healthcare (too much), we don't have to worry about our leader as much (no matter how badly he dresses), and there is 0 fear of terrorism. These are all things that I take for granted, and I know if I lived in America, I would really miss all those things.

See, that's the thing about Canada. It's that little (well, not realy) country that doesn't bother anyone and minds it's own business.
I've always though of it as the best of both worlds (france culture blended with america culture...sort of).
