I think its cool but everytime I see the number ten I wont think its him, oh well after like 10 games it'll be normal. I'm glad he got the number. The only other person I would like to see in it is maybe Giggs..maybe. Def. not Anderson.

Indecisive? You'd be the same as me then. If i'm ordering a pair of boots, for example, I'll look at them for a few days, ask everyone on SP, ask my friends and family, ponder over it for a couple more days, and then change my mind ten times when I go to order them. And that's just for boots, you can only imagine what i'd be like with something more expensive.
Yeah, haha. But I've pretty much set my mind on getting this. I'm so excited.

It's always nice when you save up to buy yourself something expensive. I think half the enjoyment I get out of buying football boots and jerseys is saving up to buy them. I remember when I bought my iPod video, it felt so rewarding to know that I actually worked to get it.

That's a good point. It just seems odd that he would do that. Most players want to keep whatever number they're given, no matter what it is, for all their career, so that people will always associate them with it. For example, when Becks had 23 at Madrid, and kept it at L.A. for brand purposes. Actually, I had my number switched from 2 to 8 on my team this season because #2 was a size medium, which was too small. I was sort of happy because Wazza wore it, which was a plus, but now he's switched, so I don't know who to associate it with

Although I hear Hargreaves will be wearing #8 this season, which is almost better, because he's a fellow Canadian!... Or
was.
I agree they usually want to keep the number as long as they can. But you bring up Becks he was 10 at first at United, but after Cantona left, he got 7. But I guess that is a bit different as 7 is probably THE number at United.
Red Carbon
Jul 1 2007, 01:23 PM
And don't forget at the time Becks switched to #7, he was still relatively unknown, or at least just coming into the spotlight. Rooney, on the other hand is one of the big names at the club, so it's a little bit stranger for him to switch.

Number 10, is THE number at UTD. As far as i remember, Beckham wore 10, but when sherringham arrived, they gave the number 10 to sherringam and gave 7 to becks which he had kept until he left. After sherringham, Ruud wore it, it has been vacant ever since, thinking of which great player to give it to, then they obviousy decided to give it to Rooney, anyone confirm??

One would have thought they'd save it for whatever striker they sign - Tevez, Gudjohnsen - whoever, but it looks to me now like they might not be signing someone as high-profile as that.

Yeah, I'm gonna have so much money in my hands when I go to buy my Ocean. I will think it over and think of how much Tunit equipment I could buy, but I'll still get the Ocean. I was so proud of myself when I forced myself away from Finish Line at the mall with nothing in my hands, haha.

But honestly I'd rather see Rooney in it since he's played for Utd. Like I said earlier give him motivation to live up to the number.

The Adidas outlets in Canada SUCK. Trust me. Absolutely no footy stuff. If you're in Toronto, try the Vaughan Mills mall Nike outlet. It's pretty awesome. They have a lot of stock (at least they did last time I was there). I almost got a pair of white/red Vapor IIs right before the IIIs came out, but I was ten dollars short! That was pretty frustrating. Anyway, pred, where will you be going? If you're near any of the cities, you should try and catch some U-20 matches.

anyways, my freind is offering to sell me his Air Legends for 20 bucks but they are in decent condition and the sole has a footprint. You can tell the boot has been worn a lot but It is still realy nice but I have heard bad things about wearing an already formed sole.
SHould I get em? Or wait for the 2nd ones to come out?
Red Carbon

20 bucks? Go for it. Even if it means using a different pair of insoles, it's still worth it. That would only be a bad deal if they were unusable.

Jul 7 2007, 12:16 AM
No, they are very usable. He just came back from Europe (france mainly..lucky asshole i wish i could have gone back home

) and bought some AZT IIIs in red so he doesnt need his legends anymore.
But I love the legend's sole...its so grippy. Ill try to sneak some pics of them tomorow in the morning to give you all a better idea of what im looking at.

Wait for what age group and where and get the grand a play for another team or are you on a contract
Ze98
Jul 7 2007, 08:24 PM
contract? here? my age?
haha i wish. Theres no other team open right now. NOSA (which I wanted to switch to, they go to Amsterdam and play with the Ajax U16 team every year...some kids get noticed and picked up) doesn't have enough players and Lakeview is full, Lafreniere is way far out and full...and that's it for clubs. Just 4 clubs here.
Im in U15 this year, just turned 14 a couple days ago. PLaying at U16 or 17 for division might make it worth it for me...no9t like I wouldn't fit in easily, im bigger then every 16+ year old in this city.
p.s. I forgot to mention that I played for CSA, Carrolton Soccer Association. Louie's club...if you have heard of him.

The thing that PISSES me off is that I stopped playing football to play basketball for like 2 years here because everyone told me i had to because of my height. Well, one day I got pissed off and started kicking my basketball around and fell back in love with this sport. So meanwhile I had lost a lot of technique and stuff...and played last season in a lower level then usual. Now I feel like I need to catch up or else I will drown in with the rest and never reach semi-pro or some form of pro football. It deppresses me...

Personally, I love the challenge of playing with people much older than me. They don't expect much from you (well, at least most don't) and if you make a mistake they'll just say: "hard luck, you'll do better next time", or something like that. I was training with a men's team for a while, just to get a bit more practice, and I learned a lot of things from them. You don't really realize the experience of certain players until you actually play with them. I got 'megged by a 50 year-old, so that gives you a bit of an indication of the level they're at.

yeah, every friday last year i played futsal with most of the men's college team and let me tell you, i got so much better playing with them than just my highschool team
Red Carbon
Jul 10 2007, 07:11 PM
Speaking of futsal, i'm thinking of starting up a league, of sorts. I'm going to put an ad in the newspaper, telling anyone who wants to come to bring $10-$20, depending on how many people show up, to pay for the rental of a gym. If enough people show up, I may be able to buy t-shirts, or possibly, if I can find any, cheap uniforms. I've got a couple proper futsal balls, and the right goals, so that's covered. There's not too many people in my city who even know what it is, so hopefully with some proper advertising (mentioning that Ronaldinho and Robinho, amongst others, started with it) I'll be able to attract enough people. I'd want to do five-a-side, if possible, but if there isn't enough people, I might have to go with 3-a-side. So what do you think, good idea, or not?

I see what you mean. What bothers me about Canada, is that we've got about three bloody mobile carriers, and they all offer the same phones! It drives me insane. Everyone I know owns a Razer, and you're considered uncool if you don't own one yourself. It can get pretty frustrating. It was the same deal with Crocs. I had a pair well before they became popular, but I got rid of them when they did.

I think that's a great idea, some guys in San Antonio bought a run down building, installed seating, and made a very nice futsal arena (i dont know if thats what its called) its really cool because they use the two large garage doors on each side of the building as goals (they removed the garage doors though) ive been there a couple of times, and it looks like fun

so good luck with that

Thanks

Hopefully it'll work out. I'm not positive on where we're going to be able to play, but my school's gym mught be an option. There's also a dome going up which has a turf field and double-sized rubberized basketball court, so that could work aswell, but I heard the it's booked through until christmas and it's not even finished until October, so it might not be an option.
