If you missed the Yak getting stuck into Blackburn then you missed out

. Apparently he threw a punch in the brawl at the end of the match today, couldn't see much apart from pushing and shoving but it said that there will probably be an investigation to follow it.
Frankly I'm disgusted at "Mr A Marriner" (ref in the Boro Blackburn game) - he booked Downing for taking a free kick before the whistle, he only warned Mark Hughes for disrupting the game so much the ref had to stop the game and get him the shut up, he only booked Derbyshire ever though he wrestled Boateng to the floor then pushed him in the face, he didnt give Bentley a yellow card even though he jumped at Downing and grabbed him by the neck and took him down (admittingly it was probably a mistake but he booked Wheater for falling into a Blackburn player and taking him out off the ball) and finally I am almost positive that he booked Savage twice and didn't send him off. What an arsehole.

Congrats everyone on their post milestones

Does anyone know how old you have to be to work in the UK. Recently I've been deciding that I could do with a job to fill my free time and get myself some extra cash but I don't know how old you have to be. I'm 15 and my National Insurance number came in the other day (I'm 16 in just over 2 months) and my mam seems to think I will be eligable for a job. I would've thought that the age was 16 but if I have my National Insurance number doesn't that mean I can work?

High school started yesterday.
Im so fucking screwed, this is like THE school of the south and they weed out the freshmen they don't want by overloading you with work. ugh...
And tryouts are tomorow and Its lookin like im the only freshmen trying out. meaning im kinda fucked, but it also means I have to rely on my speed due to the fact that I havent played in a while.

Yeah the trials are probably going to be hard...all the Seniors this year think they are shit at everything so....we'll see. But Im playing club with most of the players and Im as good if not better due to my speed.
Im getting slightly nervous but who gives a fuck anyway. Im bigger then most of the seniors anyway haha

good luck with your trials le roi. you lucky ass. i wish i was as big and tall as the seniors at my h.s. im always the shortest out of all of them as a freshman (now a junior and still the same but a bit taller) ... but one of the fastest too, so thats ok.
well i heard that cristiano got a red today for i think head-butting (?) one of the ports players? so i was just wondering, can any of you guys find a vid of it b/c i cant find one on youtube or anything. thanks for helping if you can. =]

Just stopped by to say that my school season started and things aren't going well with my legs still. This is especially for Brian to see, since we had talked about it on Yahoo, but I haven't seen him around there lately. Anyway, I went to an orthopedic doctor the other day because I couldn't stand this pain in my lower legs anymore. For the longest time, I had thought it was shin splints and was treating my legs for splints, but the doctor's diagnosis was Chronic Compartment Syndrome. He said it could take years to recover from without hard/lots of running. He also said surgery was an option and that it was 100% successful nearly every time. I don't really want to think that far yet, because I go back on Tuesday for more tests. It just sucks now because I don't do anything at practice now and I just stand around and mess with a ball. If I get surgery, I will definitely be out all this season and honestly, I don't want scars on my legs forever. One good thing is that I lettered Varsity last year, so the coaches already know what I can do, and I don't really need to show them, but not being able to run right is really hindering my play and has been for a while. And to top it all off, my assistant coach is also a chiropractor and he examined me today, only to find that my right hip is rotated again. I am really confused on what to do now; there's a lot of thoughts floating around my head right now. I talked to a girl I met one night who also played soccer and had Compartment Syndrome and she said recovery was pretty good and she feels so much better. So I thought I would just tell all of you how I was doing and I wanted to know if you guys/girls have any experience when this. Thanks, Blake.

Just hope you get it sorted out before it ruins your season. Yea I haven't been here or on Yahoo much lately as I made Varsity and am practicing a lot. Make sure to keep us posted and if you want hit me an email bgmules@yahoo.com. Good luck man
Adam congrats on the mighty modship
Le Roi what's with starting this early? That's crazy. Good luck with the team though. Just make sure to get a body on those seniors if you can, the coaches will like that

Well, legally the coach cant be here until the season starts....which is in the third trimester. But i had practice today and was the only freshman, im as big as everyone else so it was ok but i played like shit. i need a haircut asap i cant see the ball and my footskills have gone down the drain. they also threw me into LB which is NOT AT ALL my spot. Oh well, they were all real nice anyway so I dont think it should take too long to get into the rythem (sp?).

Isnt it better to just take the surgery, and get done with it? If it may take 3 years too recover from the syndrom without surgery, then why dont do it? If its like 100% succesfull? Anyway, i hope it turns out well for you footfield

Surgery would throw away this season for him when just resting he has a chance at recovering quickly enough to play. Also has concerns about the scars which I can understand.

Yeah man, sorry to hear about that, i learned about that in Sports med, basically the leg is sectioned off into 4 compartments and when one of those swells it puts pressure on the other 3, causing really bad pain, i dont remember, but if i am correct, to help alleviate the pain they will have to cut open your leg to alleviate the pressure, im sure they told you all that already, well, good luck with that man, i hope everything goes well for you and yours

I suppose it is down to him. I hope it doesnt have to go to surgery and he is alright naturally quickly. Because it isn't me I'd probably say to get surgery but if it was me, I probably wouldn't be able to go through with the surgery. That's just my position, it's all down to personal choice in the end but I hope it all sorts itsself out.

Blake bro I'm really sorry to hear about your situation. Hope something good comes outta the situation of yours. I've got my problem just before my season with my lower back. I've been getting sharp pains on the left side and it isn't the first time i've gotten this either. I can't run very well and kicking the ball with my left foot is outta the question. Thank you, everyone. Zack: You are right on about it! That is worded better than the doctors ever could, haha. I'm still torn as to what decision to make. I am going to try and go to another doctor and get a second opinion, in hopes that it turns out not as bad. I will definitely let you guys know what I do.

No problem man, and yeah, i would highly reccomend getting another doctor to check it out, because it may not be as bad as they think it to be, maybe a lot less worst, also, sit down and carefully choose which one will really help you in the long run, not in the near future, last year, i had a groin injury, and i was just like screw it, i can still play at maybe 60 percent, and my team needs me, but my doctor told me to watch this movie called Friday Night Lights in which one of the main characters, Booby Myles, an accomplished american football player has a minor knee injury and refuses to rest it, as the doctor says, and the first time back on the field, he completly tears his knee, and never was the same again , after that, i just rested it, went to Physical Therapy, did light workouts, to help the healing process and in 3 and a half months i was back without surgery,
