No problem man, and yeah, i would highly reccomend getting another doctor to check it out, because it may not be as bad as they think it to be, maybe a lot less worst, also, sit down and carefully choose which one will really help you in the long run, not in the near future, last year, i had a groin injury, and i was just like screw it, i can still play at maybe 60 percent, and my team needs me, but my doctor told me to watch this movie called Friday Night Lights in which one of the main characters, Booby Myles, an accomplished american football player has a minor knee injury and refuses to rest it, as the doctor says, and the first time back on the field, he completly tears his knee, and never was the same again , after that, i just rested it, went to Physical Therapy, did light workouts, to help the healing process and in 3 and a half months i was back without surgery,
Yep, what a great movie!
Anyway blake, really sorry to hear about your injury. IMO you should get surgury, alot of modern day sugery doesnt leave a big scar such as keyhole surgury and if you talk to your surgeon/doctor im sure something can be done to limit the scaring.
As for the operation, would you rather rest now, go back playing, and then be out for weeks/months at a time with the same injury for the next few years?? I dont know what age you are but presuming about 15/16 you are still young and as you said yourself, coaches have seen what you can do.
You will thank yourself this time next year or even earlier if you decide to get surgery and you could be playing at the top of your game. On the other hand, in another year, if the injury gets increasingly bad, you may have no other choice but to have surgery.
Im injured at the moment, because i went over on my ankle 30seconds into a match and insted of coming off, i played on till 10 minutes left, it turned out i tore ligaments in my ankle, that was 7 weeks ago, and i havnt trained or played since. What im trying to say is some injuries requuire more treatment that others and if i was in your position i would as the doctor/physio what the long term effects are and if you would ever be right again if you didnt have the surgery.
Whatever you choose, i hope your recovery goes well, all the best!!
