I had Evra and Makelele on my team, as well as an injured Robben, so what did I do? Well, in haste, I f-d up my entire day by using a Wild Card to replace Robben with Iniesta (I believe), and left Makelele on the bench. Well, what happened? Spain is in Group D, didn't play today, Makelele was Man of the Match, and I lost six points due to him being on the bench. A better way to screw myself with less pain, would have been to use a cricket bat.

Oh, and uh, if I'm not mistaken, since Robben's value is nine Euros, I could have replaced him with Kuyt or Sneijder, who had nine and fourteen points respectively. I know for sure that I could have nabbed Kuyt for the day, as his value is eight and a half Euros, but everyone, including the Netherlands fans it seems, think he's a shite, so I decided not to.

Well, most of the games have sucked so far. I was really expecting more from the French. Can anyone explain to me why they didn't bring Trezeguet? Anelka really proved his worth and was absolute shit like I expected. The Germany game was good, and Spain was exciting.

But my Dutchmen really put a smile on my face yesterday. Gio was amazing and the second goal was the best counter attack I may have ever seen. Engelaar was solid although he really came out of nowhere. Overall, I can see us taking this tourney as long as our defense holds up. I also can't wait for Huntelaar to get into the game and hopefully become the breakout star of this tourney if he plays to his potential. Hopefully we can take Kuyt out and put him in soon. It seemed to me that Kuyt dived alot yesterday judging by some of the replays.

If anyone is too much of a torres fanboy its probably villa himself. According to the paper here he dedicated his hat trick to him, those were some pretty passionate embraces they had. Villa broke his finger after the first one when he jumped on him too, the celebration was funny to begin with but now its hillarious.

School ended june 6th for me. We got back the last day of august.
