It is fake for 4 reasons without even seeing the front of the shirt.
1. Pattern is plain shinny polyester - should be the duller square patterned material
2. Number looks 1 colour of gold and too deep - should be 2 shades of gold with a lighter right edge
3. No 'SPURS' lettering on the back of the beige part of the shirt at the neck - if it was brand new, never worn as stated then that would be present. It can wear away iof worn and washed but brand new, no chance.
4. Uefa patch looks fake - white outline and detail are too bold and badge does not look 3D indicating that it is not real lextra

Hey guys! A miracle occurred, a local store actually has a marseille jersey! (08/09 away for $100)

The problem is, the inside of the collar threads seem a bit frayed... and for some reason there's lines where the neuf logo is. I can't get a picture of the actual jersey in-store because i don't think they would let me take pics... but here's a diagram



The store is quite reliable i think so i'm guessing the jerseys aren't fake... but the quality of them is worrisome to me. My other marseille jerseys don't have this odd "lining" that sticks out around the neuf sponsorship.

Any ideas if this is how the new one is, that there's the odd lining, or that it's due to other reasons?

I have the shirt and it is the mark of the transfer backing after the sponsor has been pressed on the shirt. The reason for this is the shirt has been made from a strange materialk for a football shirt. It is more like a cotton/solft wool jumper. They probably had to use this material to create the accurate diamond pattern. The material is very fine but will pull, bobble and damage easy through general wear though.

Yeah while examining the jersey it didn't feel like the normal material that's used so i was a bit cautious even though i know the store is quite reliable. thanks for the explanation!

So i'm guessing all of the away jerseys for marseille will have this lining? i probably won't get it at the store... seeing as how they don't have ligue 1 printing. i think i'm better off with waiting for it at subside or through the official boutique.

Whenever you say AA or AAA you can be certain they are fakes as that is what most Thai and French sellers use to describe their fake shirts

most of the time, when a fake jersey seller says he got L size jersey on the description, doesn't mean it is L size..

most probably you'll get either M or XL size when you buy L size from them.. then they will argue that eventhough it's M or XL size, but it's suit to Large size..

If it's a replica jersey

- why no NIKE black label
- why no SPHERE DRY label on the bottom of the shirt

If it's a player issue jersey

- why is it code 1 (not code 7 or code 2)
- why there is no thermal welded part.

If it's a fake

- why the material is damn so good
- never see any fakes using that type of washing label
- all detail are good.. nothing wrong with the badge, the size label, stitches, etc.

It is a player issue shirt because it lacks the black nike code tag, the spheredry branding at the neck as well as the logo at the lower back. The seller is legit. Nike sometimes make these player issue shirt which are based more on normal replica minus a few key security functions mid-season due to a lack of kitroom welded player shirts. I wouldn't read too much into the barcoding of the shirt. Juve used basic replica based player shirt for the red 3rd shirt in 06-07 also. Actually all the Man U 0607 blue AIG 3rd shirts are not thermoweld even though the 0506 vodafone sponsored version was. It happens quite alot with Nike as villa's 0708's kits were not welded seams either.
