Does anybody on SP play poker either socially or over the internet?
I do both and I find it really enjoyable. I play with a bunch of mates (usually about 10) about once a week with a 10 dollar buy in, with money going to the first, second and third place getters. We have a pretty good set-up, with a real poker table, WPT chips, WPT plastic cards, automatic shuffler, shoe and rake. So yeah, anyone want to share their best hand, best bluff etc.?

Good stuff Scousy, another mod with an interest in poker. I play weekly, if I can in a home game, regularly on the net and once a month or so at the casino. I know Brian plays too, we have played online together a few times.

Nah don't play on the net at all, but play with about 10 mates every now and then, don't make a routine out of it though.
I thoroughly enjoy the sport, especially when you win, and I love to bluff. Great when you pull of a hand that you've been going for, like if you've sacrificed good cards to go for something, and you get it, great feeling.

Also don't mind watching it on ESPN either.

I used to play quite a lot, but I'm now trying to save money, so i don't play as much.
5 or 6 of my friends used to put in a fiver or a tenner or whatever and get some pizza and beer in and put the rest into the pot and the winner took the rest. We used to just play with money instead of chips, but after quite a big loss on my part (relative to the amount I was getting in at the time), I decided to do the sensible thing and persuaded them to do it the social way!

I play online at
http://www.pokerroom.com and did quite well for a while, but time restraints have stopped me from doing that in the past few months.
If anyone wants to organise a game on there, I'll quite happily set up a table at an appropriate time? Winner gets crowned Sp Poker champion!
Brian.

I used to play on a regular basis but dont play nearly as much now. I still play with mates when I can get a game up and running. Stopped playing online as much as scamming is VERY easy and i dont like getting taken for a ride.

Do you all play Hold'em? I find that to be the most enjoyable, really easy to pick up as well.

Yeah Hold-em if I want to play properly. Omaha if I want a bit of fun and Omaha Hi-Lo if I really wanna fuck about. Don't mind a bit of 7 Card Stud too.
I play at Stan James, it seems very fair and I haven't had anything particularly dodgy happen (unlike Ultimate Bet).
We should definitely do a torunament Nipples!

I play regularly too, me and like 5 mates play at least once a month, there's always someone and its there first time playing, fucking beginners luck, don't understand people bluff etc lol
But when its me and me mate who play regularly its a laugh and we can play properly, usually do a 5iver or tenner buy-in depends what everyone has on them. I play online too, but only for play money as i know i'd loose alot of money if i played for real money as i would be probably playing quite a bit and at my age i can't afford it.
Yeah its Hold 'em i play, haven't played the others, but i'm interested it them. i play on holdempoker.com

I play at holdempoker.com too. Or partypoker.com
I've played Omaha and 7 Card Stud a few times but I found hold'em to be so much more enjoyable.

my friend turned a $5 bonus that was given to him for doing a internet survey, into $750, i thought that was pretty neat...seeing it was free money and all... i think the poker site was called noble poker.
He did this playing poker, but alot of the money came from 3 card poker..

I did not know the game before I saw a programme about Gus Hansen. I realised there was big money to get so I started playing and I've played ever since. Usually No Limit Texas Hold'Em. If we could start a tournament it'll be amazing!

Lets set up a game then shall we? Not real money as that would deter many players from participating and also it's more friendly if it's free.... Just give the winner say a month's ad-free SP say?

Just thought I'd bump this.
I've been playing for quite a while now, but only just started playing for money online. Doing really well atm, only deposited $20 dollars to start with and just withdrew my 3rd cheque, this one for $300 the other two for $150 so i'm pretty pleased with it atm.
I play on pokerstars which after trying a few others on free play I felt was the best.
I've got some screen shots of me in a few tournys on my other pc with i will get up asap.

Better add:
Best hand: 8A, flop: 88K turn: some random card river: 8. I was up against K10. So my Quad 8's were the perfect hand against his full house.
Best Bluff: AK hand, 246 flop, he checked, I raised, he called. 6 came out we both checked, he bet i called. 2 on the river, he checked, i raised all in, he folded.
Sounds like a normal scenario, but it was heads up in a $22 buy in 180 player tourny. and a matter of hundreds of dollars difference for the win.
Best call: last 7 players in a 320 player tourny. I had 140K chips, on big blind, small blind had 60k. Blinds were 3000/6000. Small blind had raised all in the last 2 times he was smal blind, i expected it again, and with kojak called as soon as he did. he had 4 10 off suit

and hit a ten on the flop. river was a king

lol, i can see you dont play that much

.... flopping straights or bluffing on 2 paired board isnt that big of a deal .....
but anyway, is there anyway we can set up a game? it doesnt have to be on real money.

I'd be up for a SP poker game. I regularly play Texas Hold'em with mates. Haven't forayed into online poker yet, but i'm thinking of giving it a go.
