Since there wasn't a topic about this yet and we're leading 2-0 in the final game I thought it was about time to make this topic. Huntelaar scored both goals and we're playing with a comfortable lead. Ukraine has been dangerous a couple of times so far. Though both attempts on the post shouldn't have been a free kick in the first place.

I know i was watching talpa too. But congratulations to Jong Oranje! Huntelaar is really proving himself and consistency. Van basten is probably scratching his head over why he picked VOH instead of Huntelaar

Probably not cause he took VOH because of his pinchhitter role and everybody knows what Huntelaar is capable of.

Great match by De Zeeuw and Vermeer. They really stood out. The attack trio looked good too although Castelen and especially Hofs managed to fuck up every chance they got/created.

I still don't get why VOH's in the squad. He's a pinchhitter? What does that mean?

Strikers are there to score goals. And if there's one whose on a roll, full of confidence and who can stand his own ground, it's Huntelaar. What makes VOH a better option to have than Huntelaar?

The pinch hitter role is extremely overrated here. Infact its just some myth created. You dont need a big strong guy to be a pinchhitter. You need strikkers to go in the game for a defender. Strikers who can motivate the rest of the team. Sure being tall and having a good header helps. But the role is soooo overrated. And VoH isnt even good in that role. Put Huntelaar, Kuyt and van Nistelrooy in the field and no defender will ever be able to win an air duel.

Just cause you don't understand it doesn't make it a myth. But there's already a topic about VOH and the Dutch selection so just take it there alright?

Huntelaar is not a pinchhitter, VOH is. Remember the game we played in Armenia during the qualification? That is why VOH is in the squad. When there are only 15 minutes on the clock and we are behind he comes on and we have to play the long ball to him because he pretty much wins everything in the air. That's why he is in the team.
About the under-21 team: Top class although we were a bit lucky. But the winner of a tournament always has a bit of luck. De Zeeuw, Hofs, Aissatti, Huntelaar, Castelen and Vermeer were all impressive. I think we can expect great things from this generation, too bad Afellay missed this tournament.

Very nice win for Netherlands. I saw the game ((was quite late and was sleepy)) they seemed to dominate the game. Huntelaar had done well at club level and his goal against France was awesome and he scores two goals yesterday. He seems to be a veru good player. Well done Holland for winning the under 21 European championship.... lets hope that you a hard time defending your crown at home.

Terrific! I am so proud We started the tournament pretty bad, but look at what we have reached now. What a team, we have the future! Lol Im really happy with this victory.. Now we need to go for the big one

It was a great tournament by the U 21 side. Nobody really expected something from them anymore before the match againest Italy but they proved everybody wrong. This side was a lot more succesfull than our big boys in germany.... But this gives our nation hope for the future with this talented bunch of lads...

hope these young guys believe and show that they could win the world cup at 2010
