Many users have commented on the shower trick; what is the definitive, ultra awesome shower trick. My legends fit pretty well, but they are a bit narrow and im afraid of what happened to me with the vapors (they hurt like b*tches), and if the shower trick enables me to wear gloves on my feet, then by all means, HELP ME OUT!

some people us the shower, some people use the bath

I am a bath man

run an ankle height bath hot water so hot if cause mild discomfort but never pain.

Before you get in the bath put a towel in there, preferably dark in colour so not to stain it, so you scratch up the bottom of the bath

then get the thickest pair of socks you own (I would use thick socks as the boots will slightly get smaller fom the eventual shape you sretch them) then put them on and you boots wear them as loose or tight as you want depending on how snug you want the boot I have it loose personally

then stand or sit in the bath feet pressed firmly down in the boot on the bottom of the towel for about half an hour take a psp or a game boy with you so you don't get bored

(if you stay in till the bath gets cold it works best as the boots wont change hardly from what it's like when you leave the bath but that takes far too long)

wear you boots around the house as much as possible whilst they're drying and cooling down - warning squelching is a big happening and you will get wet every where

when they've seemed to cool down you can take them off or keep weairng them whilst they dry but it could take ages

I like to tkae mine off at this point fill them full of news paper so they don't collapse whilst they dry and put them infront of a very sunny window

(you cna use sources of heat but this risks damaging the leather and re shaping the boots)

apply dubbin everyday from when they're dry on the outside till match day to keep the leather decent

wear them around the house as much as possible and when you're not fill them with newspaper (you might not to frequently change the news paper as it will become soggy and slow down the time it takes to dry

this might sound like a gay question since im thinking talarias are made up of a plastic shit material.. but would it work? i know their not leather lol

this process is meant to work on leathers because of the way they shrink when wet. it wont be as effective with any synthetic.

I always go swimming in mine. All my boots fit me perfectly after that. I thought why go in the shower when I can hop in the pool. Works tons better than showering in them.

No. Leather expands when wet and shirnks when dry, thats why you have to kepe the boots on your feet a little bit after you've taken them out of the water and that's why you put newpaper in overnight so the boot doesn't shirnk alot.

it works quite well on sythetics because they stretch easy when wet because they're like plastic so it's like when you heat up a plastic ruler it bends...it worked on my vapors but when every you're not wearing them they must be filled with newspaper otherwise they'll go back to their orignal shape whilst cooling

how long do you have to keep stuffing them with newspaper?? like for the whole time you own them. i assume ocne they dry from the shower they should be fine shouldn't they?

once they're dry maybe for an aditional day or so but wear them around the house and stuff till your game

It definitely works on Vapors/Talarias, since it has been known to be called the Vapor Trick i think. And I can confirm that Vapors do stretch, just not as much as leather, and not as easily.

actually, when heated, synthetics probably stretch better than leather, but you need heat. don't stick your boots in the microwave, its just an observation!
