Anyone else take fishign serously, i don't mean say like 4 times a year, i mean like a few times a week. What do you do? Coarse? Sea? Fly? Shore?
I do all of them, but mainly concentrate on coarse fishing, with a bit of fly, in say a month i'll be doing alot of Shore fishing aswell when the Slamon start to come to the shore thats down the road from me.
My local river opened on the first, but i haven't been able to go untill the day due to football and being away on a short holiday so i went tonight and opened this seasons account with a small brownie, i plan to go tomorrow and the day after also.

I thought the river season runs from June 16th? Maybe its dif in Jockland.
I fish a lot in the summer, mainly for carp at the moment but come the 16th a decent Barbel will be my mission. I have never sea or fly fished though.

Wehey!
I was an avid fisherman for about 5 years. Then when me and my mate grew apart I went less and less. I haven't been for probably over a year or two now. Still have my stuff though and I really feel like going now you mention it. I have a pole, I think it's Shimano Technium. Can't remember how long it is though.
You guys heard of Gold Valley? I might go there next time or Bury Hill. That reminds me, I'd need to renew my license before I go anywhere.

I know quite a few people who fish... I always wanted to fish but suprisingly never have I dunno because maybe the facilities and stuff aint that proper over here in India. And in Mumbai its so dam hard to have an quiet atmosphere.
Just a fact, Fishing is the most participated sport in the world.

When i was younger i used to fish like mad, going every weekend but now that i am older i have hardly been. The last time was back in 99 or 2000 (cant remember) when i was in Nova Scotia at a lodge when i caught a mackerel. Best thing about it was that i got to eat it that night for dinner

Well its different in different sriver systems, ie. River Tay opened 1st of January.
anyone heard of Grimista or Amhuinnsuidhe, they are among the best in the World and their on my island, i've first in both once for free (they cost £750 a time), caught nothing in Grimista, no-one did, in Amhuinnsuidhe i got the record for the heaviest brown trout in one of their lochs, and i am going again in 2 weeks wooop
Mackeral, hmmm i've caught a few hundred of them i reckon, usually catch about 10 when i go out, or more, but then i jsut gut them and use them as bait as they are so easy to catch and every fish likes to at them so it makes them the ideal bait for sea fishing.

My dad is a pretty avid fisherman. I'm a bit like Flip...used to fish more when I was a boy. I still fish a few times a summer.
Mostly do pan fishing (small freshwater lake fish: crappies, sunnies, perch) & walleye. Do a bit of fly fishing for brook trout now and again. Fly fishing for sunfish can be quite fun.
My dad goes Salmon fishing on Lake Michigan at least a few times a year. He has a decent fishing boat (18 ft?) deep hull, & uses down riggers when Salmon fishing. I go every once in a while. Good fun.

I've enver caught a Salmon before, but i am going to catch one this year, going to go all out to catch one. My best bet is at the shore where there is hundreds of sea trout and a lot of Salmon swimming in some stream in the sea, but its miles away from any river so we've always wondered what they are doing there.

Yea, i fish like every weekend in the summer. Mostly freshwater for bass, sometimes saltwater for snapper and striper. Its loads of fun.
