I know they won't receive much notice because of he world cup but most of them are early in the morning before any of the football games start.
Something to wake up to and kill the time before the first game kicks off in the afternoon.

First up this Saturday is

New Zealand vs Ireland (Hamilton)
South Africa vs Scotland (Durban)

Then on Sunday it's

Australia vs England (Sydney)

The All Blacks have named a second string strangely, i know their second string hammered Ireland last November but it seems pretty odd they are resting their players for the Argentina test.
Anyone know the reason?

I'm really lookig forward to these games, there should be some interesting matches in there and some new and unproven players to look at. Tom Varndell will start for England for the first time and his place next to outside centre Matthew Tait, should be very interesting. I think these two young players will have more pace between them than any other centre/wing pairing and their strength and youth could pose real problems in years to come. Whether they perform against the strong Australians is a a different matter though.

Three new caps will take their places for England also, forward players Alex Brown and Magnus Lund and scrum-half Peter Richards.

The New Zealand side has been annonced and is nowhere near a second string side as you suggested. Just check out this line-up:

New Zealand team: Muliaina; Howlett, Nonu, Mauger, Rokocoko; McAlister, Kelleher; Dermody, Mealamu, Hayman; Jack, Rawlinson, Holah, McCaw (captain), So'oialo.
Replacements: Hamilton, Hill, Cowan, Kaino, Flavell, Tialata, Oliver.

That's a pretty strong side by even England's standards! laugh.gif

I'm sure i heard the likes of Carter, McCaw, Rockocoko and Muliaina were being rested for these games. Guess not.

I see Carter isn't there but your right that's a very strong lineup.

I thought the Irish had a chance there for a second.

Well here's the source I found it at BBC Sport

Carter is out injured so in comes repplacement Luke McCallister, who had a scare of his own this week:

"All Blacks fly-half Luke McAlister will face Ireland in Saturday's first Test despite an irregular heartbeat problem. McAlister, who starts in Hamilton with Dan Carter rested, admitted he was a "bit scared" when the problem flared up earlier this week.

"The doc (doctor Deb Robinson) was with me the whole time so there was nothing to be worried about," McAlister said. "She said it was nothing too major. The previous one I had for half an hour, this one went on for a bit longer."

Robinson accompanied McAlister to hospital where treatment helped him get his heart back to normal. "If it comes again we will deal with it the best way possible and I just not try to think about it really," he said.

Robinson revealed it is unlikely the problem would occur in a game as it appears to be triggered when McAlister is in a resting state. "It has never happened during a game," she said, "He had the problem two years ago and he has played a lot of footy in the last two years and it has never happened in a game so that would be quite a long way down the list of causes really."

^That was a bit of a worry. Glad to hear he's alright. McAlister is a fine talent. How unlucky can you get being in the same side as Dan Carter? As far as I know Carter has been named in a starting line up for the Argentina match. He was never going to play the Irish.

It should be an interesting match between the All Blacks and Ireland. This marks the beginning of the McCaw era as captain following Umaga's international retirement. It'll be great to see O'Driscoll out there after the incident on the Lions tour.

Some of the ABs have plenty to prove. A gaping hole has been left at outside centre with the loss of Umaga. Ma'a Nonu needs to put in a good performance there. The guy is built like a tank and has a great turn of speed for such a big man, but he needs to be more consistent. His tackling is still a bit suspect for me. Howlett and Rokocoko have had forgettable seasons thus far in a woeful Auckland Blues side (only 5 tries between the two). I'm sure they'll pick it up quickly though. They rarely disappoint on the international stage.

I'm looking forward to seeing Varndell play the Aussies. He looks to be something special. England sorely need a new game-breaker in the backs.

I watched some of the Australia-England match and a demolition was under way. what was the final score anybody?

34-3 I think.

Australian's dominated the second half. Not convinced by them though.
Need to win the next game to get back the Cook Cup.
