If any of you read the red f50s thread you would have read i was on my own mission to colour my pulses gold and i think it deserved a new thread since i described the whole process, with that said...
OK many have tried to customize they'r boots, spray paint them, dye them and what not, and i wanted to show people mine and how i did them so they can learn and follow, i used a crafting gold spray for mine, now this whole procedure took me 5 hours one day and an additional 2 hours the next, but perfection takes time and patience. First of all i got some masking tape and taped all the bits i didnt want gold (the tounge and silver sides), you can tape wich ever bits you dont want coloured but make sure they'r tapped good and in detail (so that they don't run over or less then the bits you want painted). This took me about 30 minutes since i did it in fine detail which is rewarded once you take of the tape, then i took a blow dryer lol yep, to make the leather warm so that they take the colour in better, i heated them really hot and sprayed the gold on streight after, once i sprayd the whole boot i used the blow dryer again for about 2 minutes and then let them dry outside, after an hour i put the second coating on and waited another hour before putting the third one, i then took of all the tape, after i did this i took a spray for protecting shoes against water and mudd you can find this at your local shoe shop, i sprayd the whole boot with it, then i took cotton buds and soaked it in meathelated spirits and ruped of little bits of gold that got through the tape, then i just let them dry for the day, next morning as soon as i woke up i took them outside to do the heel and sole plate, i again taped all the bits i didnt want coloured and sprayd the sole and heel lightly, then waited another hour and put another very light coating over that one and lastly i put the 4th coating on the leather again to just have a nice finish! i Let them dry for an hour took of the tape, used cotton buds and methalated spirits again to clean of the bits that got through the tape, i have never been more proud of anything i did myself, these boots really reflect a bit of hard work and logic. i hope you guys like them as much as i do as they look even more magical in person!!!:)

The only thing I woulda left would have been the soleplate as the paint might just start coming off and because these are soo perfect that would ruin it all...but having a silver and red soleplate would have ruined it automatically so I pretty much contradicted everything I just said and can't be bothered backspacing! Yew! RAWR! bleh!

One last thing: I just edited a few of your spelling mistakes (because im so anal, sorry!).

LOL thanks for the correcting, nah they were the blue silver pulses, if they were red and silver i would have left it since the tounge is already red but blue didnt look good on em and most of the heel counter was blue aswell so that really showed and i didnt wanna do the heel counter gold and leave the sole plate silver and blue, but pictures cant really show you how real they actually look, when i look at the pics the colour is way of the original cause im looking at them now and theyr bright gold and everytings on em really looks like it was made like that, lol cant wait till my trainng tommorow and all the colour will be gone.

Yeah, take some more pics after training. I did something similar but always had a problem with the paint peeling or rubbing off.

Mate they are awesome, should get some money off ur mates for doin theirs but dont let them do the same colour as yours because then yours stay unique. Glad to see that time and patience pays off. Good job hope you enjoy them

Thanks alot guys, I used craft spray which you can buy at any crafts shop, i donno where you live but in aussie spot-light is the place, trust me they dont need to be any golder, in pics they look sort of darker, in person theyr really bright gold they stand out more then the blue beckham abs, i havent played in them yet but tonight i got training so i'll get some pics in a couple of hours, yep i wanted to do the tounge a different colour but i dont have any other coloured spray and im just gona train tonight and if the colour comes of theres no point putting any on the tounge, IF it doesnt work i think i might wash of the colour and do them another colour and take a different proccess and different spray untill i get it right, then you guys can see what will actually work for your boots!

Theyre really hot mate, Made me wanna black out my legends but theres not really much to black out there! A little off topic but is there any websites where you can look at boot customisations or stuff like that? ive looked on google but it just keeps coming up with numerous football boot dealerships...

Ok i just came back from training, i came on the pitch and kicked the ball around a few times and then took some really hard shot, i was supprised, not a trace of the gold coming of, i don't know about you guys but when i train my boots take a really hard beating since we muck around a lot, the whole trainng i was going hard on them to see how much pressure they could sustain and at the end of the training i examened them and none of the gold has chiped of! However they have crack at some places but the cracks dont look weak or like they'r pealing of, these crack are impposible to see from when your standing but are visable when you take a closer look, ofcourse the colour of the sole has gone of but i didnt expect it to stay, they stil look pretty much the same except the cracks which i i dont think are gonna be visible if i take pics therefore im not going to bother, Im really happy aboout the outcome since none of it chipped away on the leather, however im gonna colour them one more time, colour the tounges and maybe do some otehr small cusomizations to it and then use them for matches or important matches only.

KEEP THE TOUNGES thats what makes them pred's lol i love these boots and i went out and got some craft spray today as well im gonna try it on my blue pulses my high school colors are blue and gold so i hope it works out as well as urs did ill post pics on fri prolly

i forgot to add.... Spursboy: ur f50+ look like ass, i would use paint thinner on those and give it another try with a diff. color

Personally, i would cut the tongue off but that's just me.

I blacked out my Legends earlier on, but the heel bit(plastic) needs changed, so I think Im gonna make that silver...ill post up pics when the process is complete.

Yep you could do it with legends since they are K-leather, but i wouldnt recomend it if they are your primary or only boot, i used my old pulses which i never use anymore so it didn't really matter if they were demaged! I say leave the tongues as they are! I think it makes the gold stand out even more and makes them look more professional. And as people have said... a red tongue is the real sign of a predator.

Alrite Mate i'v tried to do the same thing you'v done except to my black/red zidane colorway pulses. So far so good, I'm just waiting on my first coat to dry! I decided to paint them entirely gold except for the silver adidas stripes and the red tongue ( you were my inspiration on tongue) I will post pics in the next day or two with my completion of this project Cheers

I have a pair of Umbro football boots I want to customise but i'm pretty sure they're not kangaroo leather only that cow hide stuff as they were fairly cheap ($100 AUD, last season). Do you think it would still work? I'm pretty sure they were these ones (Umbro Owen 10's) but they're mainly white with red not black with white:

I was thinking either: -mainly lime green with blue trim
-mainly fluro orange with purple trim
-mainly fluro yellow with fluro green trim
What can I say? I like bright colours!

those are one of the best pair of shoes ive seen in my life.im customizing my legends usin the same steps you did.i doubt theyll come out the same way.

hmm, they're ok but i dont like the colours together.
