After giving up a 3-1 series lead to the Edmonton Oilers, the Carolina Hurricanes rallied in Game 7 to win the franchise's first Stanley Cup,
i think this years stanley cup as great. there was fantasic shots and stone cold saves. i hear people complaing "oh it sucks the cup isnt going to a hockey city". i think there wrong how could these teams get there without a fans and there cities supporting them.
The Oilers played fantasic in the playoffs. in the middle of the season there minds werent even on the playoffs.they made it though as an 8th seed. the reason why i think they lost it was defense, defense, defense.... they lost there goalie in the first game. which was huge to them. so they couldnt play there style of game they had to run with the hurricanes trying to match therre goals and they just couldnt do it.
Now on to the Hurricanes..... all i have to say is Cam Ward. he was amazing. this year was his rookie season and he won the Stanley Cup. some player dont even win or they win it late in there career. in the press conference it didnt seem like he understood the gradatude of the situation. Carolina's offensive was also impressive they light up 3 to 5 goals a game.
Overall i enjoyed this year stanley cup. it wasnt to dominate forces but they proved that they are becomming elite teams.
