Here is what I think of the teams.....I will order them by what I had initially expected:
5. Angola.....they displayed alot of will in this tournament....and surprised me...especially in the Mexico match...unfortunately...they had nothing else......and it showed
4. Togo......this team showed....what we knew....which was that they have some very good individual players....I was particuarly impressed by Kader and Agassa....and yet....they still managed to prouce a performance....that shamed all of African football......as one European football pundit said....."Togo's antics set Africa back 20 years"....I agree.....not too mention the very irratic nature of their play....and frankly....I would not a shed a tear.....if they never qualify for another ACN.
3. Tunisia...I didnt expect much from them....but frankly....they didnt provide anything......maybe the absence of their best player (a Brazilian, anyway....so I am not sad he didnt play for them).....softened their attack.....but they were honestly the least dynamic team I saw in the tournament.....really...I dont have much to say.......because frankly....I could care less
2. Ghana....a bright light at this World Cup....the football they played was not always good...but still I was greatly impressed......but their exuberance.....and all action style was overcome by their glaring weaknesses...notably....lack of natural finishers....and decent to poor defending.....but I am happy that Nigeria's greatest rival have finally announced themselves on the World stage.....maybe Europe will take notice when we crush them again
1.Ivory Coast.....I must say I was bitterly dissapointed by them...what happened to the sterling defensive and physical display they showed at the ACN...it seemed as though...they were so busy trying to be the "African surprise package" that they lost any semblance of organization.....people....have said that the Ivorians deserved to go through.....but any team that GOES DOWN 2-0 IN THREE CONSECUTIVE MATCHES...does not deserve anything.....remember that these sides include an S and M team that was totally resigned to their fate....I am still trying to figure out what happened..
your thoughts?

Ghana and Ivory Coast suprised me a lot, they can be proud. Ivory Coast played good football but werent efficient enough. Ghana were unlucky with the decision of the referee in their match just before half time, which really unfluenced the result.

Ghana surprised me.. Great football, but the other ones sucked. Ivory coast should have done better. The world cup missed Nigeria and Kamerun- Instead of those big countries Togo camed on... Next world cup Nigeria and Ghana will do it good i think. This was not impressive by any of the african countries, except Ghana.

I think Ivory Coast were better than the argies and holland, but they lacked that experience that is needed on this kind of stage. You can see that they had the confidence needed to make it far in the tournament, but it was just those moments where the defence would get lazy and expect nothing to happen and as a result would concede a goal for it. Dont get me wrong though, This IC team had a really good defence(boka definitely needs abetter team), but like I said before it was those split second moments where they got lazy and lost concentration that they got burned. I honestly believe that this team will be a contender for the WC in 2010 with all the youth coming of age by then(average age of the team was only 23). They have young promising strikers, a young defence, and a midfield that consists of the two most promising African players in Yaya and Zokora. What can you say about those two eh? They had the dutch and the argentinians in their hands the entire game. Both of them would always break up the oppositions attack before it even started and that is not an easy thing to do at this level for two lesser known players. I can only see this team getting better and better with age and experience
Other than Ivory Coast and Ghana, all the other team really didn't impress me. WHat I loved about Ghana was that they would always attacked the opposition team and were intimidated by big teams such as Italy, Czechs and Brazil. It takes a lot of courage to do that and they were a really enjoyable team to watch. I had mixed emotions about their loss because I wanted them to advance in the tournament for africas sake, but not at the expense of brazil being knocked out(the tournament would be boring without brazil).
With Ghana, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Cameroon, Egypt, Senegal, south africa and other lesser known countries rising , I think it is time we have 6 team in the WC, and since it is in Africa, why not give us an extra spot? Pele predicted that an African team would win the world cup by 2010 and gues where the wc is in 2010? 2010 will bring the World Cup to Africa, where I think it will stay for 4 years:).

Ghana and Ivory Coast impressed me with their performances...
Ivory were very unlucky against Holland and Argentina..and Ghana were very unlucky to face Brazil in the 2nd round...too bad those two teams were in the toughest 2 groups in the tournament...
I was really disappointed by tunisia they didn't provide anything....
Togo and Angola did they best they can but everybody knows that their ability to win is limited.....
overall...I'm satisfied

This is a problem I see with African football supporters....how in God's name are we satisfied....one team in the 2nd round is an absolute embarrasment....look at the quality players we are producing...did you see how much the Europeans cried when the ACN was on.....Ukraine is in the quarterfinals....Nigeria and Cameroon are at home......Ivory Coast was "home before the post cards"....and only Ghana left a good impression...Ive already mentioned how much Togo shamed us.....Africa must improve!....this era of mismanagement and underachievment must end.

looking at the teams that represented Africa in the World Cup, yes I am satisfied!!!!!
if Cameroon, Nigeria, Egypt etc. were there and we got the same results--> only one qualifying, then it is a different story, of course it wouldn't be accepted....
come on let's face it...what did you expect from Togo and Angola???
here is what I expected from all African teams before the WC started:
CIV fight hard for a spot in the 2nd round, Tunisia qualify with ease, Ghana max. 1 point against USA, Togo and Angola heavy defeats...
most results are better than expectations or at least what was expected except maybe Tunisia...
face it...
if you switch Angola with Cameroon, Togo with Nigeria, and of course Tunisia with Egypt, then we might have hoped for 5 spots in the 2nd round....
but you must see which teams are playing and not just say "Africa"

Ivory coast was in a terrible group and as good as they are lets face it it was not a big surprise they didn't move on to the next round. Ghana played well, they impressed me and showed heart, I loved watching their game because they never lost their pace. Togo had issues outside of the football pitch that just down right annoyed me and came into the games unfocused, but they too tried their best and showed heart so for that I am satsfyed its not like any of these teams didn't play to the best of their abilities.
Having one or two quality players won't help African teams move on, so that is why a lot of fans are satisfyed. Its unrealistic to expect Africa to do that well in the world cup yet, they are stildeveloping and hpefully in 2010 they will do extremely well.

Am satisfied with the performance of Africa in the WC. Togo had problems but tried and lost it. Tunisia were poor as they are the ones expected to go through with their easy group. IC were unlucky to lose their 2 games & there group was very tough. Ghana were unfortunate to face Brazil so early.
