After a long legal battle Hull finally agreed terms with Parkinson's former club Colchester which freed him to make the move to The KC Stadium and succeed Peter Taylor at the helm.
"We are delighted to announce the appointment of Phil Parkinson as the new manager of Hull City AFC," a club statement read.
"It has been a long two weeks of negotiations since Peter Taylor left Hull City on 13th June. However we have finally secured one of the brightest managers in the game and one who has been coveted by many, many clubs in The Championship over the last year."
Hull have already confirmed Frank Barlow as Parkinson's number two, but they have also announced that Colin Murphy will take on a role of director of development, while physio Simon Maltby, goalkeeping coach Mark Prudhoe, centre of excellence chief Billy Russell and youth scout Neil Mann will remain in their current positions.

Dont really know much about Parkinson myself, but he's turned Colchester into somewhat of a force, and leaving them now just seems strange to me. Surely he'd prefer to test the squad he's built against the higher quality of opposition which they've earned the right to compete with?
