i have been playing for 5 years and i can firgure out how to bend the ball?
Dandinho
this is perhaps the easiest thing to do

there's so many different ways to do it I don't know where to start

kick the ball just off centre with the inside or outside of your foot

or kick it with your big toe
Edson Buddle

Dandinho

to be brutally honest, if you havent worked out how to curve a ball in 5 years...you should just forget it altogether...
JC-14
How is it possible to not know how to curve a ball. biggrin.gif
Dandinho
don't be harsh to him, he might not have been trying to curl the ball and only now decided he wants to knwoledge
Kink
danaldinho, its not being harsh, its just the truth..if some one here wont say it, then some one will..and to his face as well which would be worse..

such is life

I use the inner top part of the foot so i can bend the ball... it works for me...

or you can just see some david beckham, zidane, etc. players to see how they bend the ball...see what they use and how their legs move and stuff... thats help me so far thumbsup.gif

TimIgnite
how old are you i learned to curve a ball at 7 i i just cant stop now lol it so easy i can even do it with my left foot which 2 month ago i couldnt kick with my left foot
Mo.
As soon as u have mastered the art of bending a ball u do it naturally. i cant stop doing it nowadays (i cant shoot straight. it always curls, swerves or dips) it sometimes gets a bit annoying ranting.gif
It has made my freekicks unstoppable though. banana.gif
Quam
yeah im having to re-learn how to hit a straight free-kick again, it always curves to much.

i started off kicking curved, i never learned soccer properly, now i'm trying to get my straight shot better. plus i injured my ankle and it's easier to curve
Edson Buddle
yea enough bashin me i can do it know.. i just wanted to hear how other people do it not hahaha its so easy u can do it haha
JC-14
Sorry but it's just common sense. If you'd ask someone how to chip a ball they'd most likely laugh too.
steve_randle
i learn how to bend the ball by looking the way beckham does... use your instep and hit the side of the ball... try to wrap your foot around the ball to give it that curve... maybe you can read some books about it... i learn most of my techniques there...
Edson Buddle
yup i can do it now that for the help
Bene
Wow, you guys are forgetting the most important element. Friend told me about it and its actually true. Something to do with the force and weight of your body moving. Beckham does it all the time.

If Right Footed, Swing Left hand counter clockwise upon wind up. Also do not line up straight infront of the ball...line up like such...

There is a freekick guide in this sub forum. search for it and download it. It was a big help to me in improving my freekicks. Also the Roberto Carlos shooting guide is right around the top of this thread has useful advice. Open the wordpad file in notepad and a little way down you will find the text of the whole thing.
Edson Buddle
thanks guys and ye abene that helped alto thanks
