Is able to hold it's own against South American and European National Squads. And South American National Clubs.

better food , better girls , nicer beaches

Excellent comment, I agree 100%. Foreigners with white skin never get hassled because they don't fit the profile the US looks for. The profile that they look for is dark skin people, this includes Cubans, Mexicans, Hondurans, Guatemalans, Perubians, etc...... I regret to say that I feel this will never change.

Is mexico better than the USA?
yes and no,
-right now the mexican team is better and has a MUCH stronger fan base.
-the league is better, but that doesnt matter due to the large number of players playing in europe.
-they play in harder tourneys (copa america)

But, the US has a larger money market, which it is starting to tap and get large profits.
-the Youth development has increased, and become important.
-Large pool of great skilled athletes
-american public begining to notice soccer and demanding success.

Sorry but with all that I see the amercan game improving to pass mexico in the future. the USA will have too much money and larger sponsorship. we also have a large mix of people, all races mexican american like myself, african-american, italian american, and etc. with time and money the top athletes will begin to see soccer as an option and play it more. also with a more attack style which is the USA is starting next year will attract more fans and players who all love goals.
as a mexican american i always root for mexico and agree mexico is better but realistically i see what america does and if it wants it and its people want it ....it will do it...with money, determination, and skill. but i do not see this happening for another 10-13 years. also by that time the USA will too play in the copa america.

Actually dude I believe the U.S gets an invitation for every Copa America but they dont accept for a few reasons, the official one is that it conflicts with the MLS schedule but realistically it has more to do with lack of security in South America. Mexico gets treated pretty harshly by people when they play in South America, with the kind of negative light the U.S is seen in they would get treated much worse by the fans and nobody would be able to guarantee the team's safety.

I try to be as optimistic as you are about the MLS growing into a decent league but there are just too many obstacles. It competes with the top three U.S sports, the big three along with college sports just get too much air time on TV to allow Soccer to grow the way it should. Also most of the U.S stars play in Europe, which does not work in a country thats used to having the best leagues in every other sport. The consensus is that the best players in the World should play in American leagues (see baseball, basketball, hockey and football) the MLS has too few stars and as soon as players become stars they go overseas. In Mexico the Soccer League is the most followed out of all the sports, the Mexican basketball league is obsolete, american football is limited to college level and the baseball leagues have their followers but do not rival soccer. Corporate sponsorship is already as big in Mexico as it will ever be in the States and because of the large sums of money available some of the best players are reluctant to go play in Europe. Which means that the Mexican league is not only full of Mexican stars but Argentinian, Brazilian and other players like playing in Mexico where they make their moneys. Just look at the career Aguinaga and Cardozo made in Mexico and look at Camoranesi who jumped from Cruz Azul to Europe.

As far as the National teams go, Mexico and the States are in an odd point in history where both teams are just about equal. The U.S beats Mexico in the U.S and Mexico wins in Mexico, it will be like this for a few years, at least until the Mexican player exodus to Europe that we're now seeing starts yielding some results. Than if its true that playing in Europe makes a difference we'll see the Mexican team become a little more dominant than the U.S. Right now they're both pretty equal, both should be ranked along the lines of 15-17 in the world and both are pretty far away from winning any major competitions anytime soon.

Actually most Mexicans, or Mexican Americans dont like to be called hispanics. That goes for most other people categorized as "latinos" since most feel it takes away from their heritage. And lets try not to call people names.
