Financial Times interview with him today @
FT.comGood read about the man, but the most important paragraph for us is
QUOTE
With Rangers, Mr Murray believes his 20-year involvement could be coming to a close. "I'm coming up for 20 years, and I think that will be enough for anybody. We've had a couple of people speak to us tentatively, but I would only sell the club if it was somebody who could take it to a higher level. There's no point in selling Rangers to people who then can't invest more money."
If he left I wouldn't be too displeased, we would know the new owner would have the club's interests at heart, as Murray wouldn't sell us to someone who didnt. We are also practically self-sufficient, and don't rely on his money much now, so if he felt the time was right, good luck to him
Really good read though
Rangers owner David Murray has revealed he could sell the club within three years and has already had interest from potential buyers.
The tycoon, who took control at Ibrox in 1989, said he would only sell to someone prepared to invest more cash.
"I'm coming up for 20 years, and I think that will be enough for anybody," the 54-year-old entrepreneur told the Financial Times. "We've had a couple of people speak to us tentatively, but I would only sell the club if it was somebody who could take it to a higher level."
He added: "There's no point in selling Rangers to people who then can't invest more money."
Murray's portfolio of metals, mining, property and venture capital businesses have made him Scotland's fifth richest man, worth £650 million.
The founder-owner of Murray International Holdings, he bought Rangers for £6 million in 1989. One fans group said he would be missed by the vast majority of the club's followers if he sold up.
John Macmillan, secretary of the Rangers Supporters Association, said: "I am confident Mr Murray would only sell to someone with the best interests of the club, its players and supporters at heart.
"It's true he has had his detractors who say he only took over Rangers for his own profile but he has invested lots of time and his own money in the club."
Stephen Smith, of the Rangers Supporters Trust, said: "Our biggest nightmare would be a Malcolm Glazer taking control at Ibrox.
"One man who might be interested is Sir Tom Hunter, he's known to be a big Rangers fan. But we don't want one unaccountable rich man replaced with another. David Murray owns 91.8% of the club, that's unhealthy, and whoever takes over we would like to see ownership radically overhauled and re-distributed
--------------------------------------------------
I think it would be exciting seeing a new owner come in . Dont get me wrong David Murray has done alot for the club clearing the debt and giving rangers his own money for the 20 years that he served us but i just feel as if i would like a change at ibrox someone new someone whos loaded and will invest in the club alot and bring household names to ibrox , As long as it doesnt involves us getting into debt

just after reading that on BBC site i agree with the fact i would not like to see a Malcom Glazer type guy, but I would like to see a person with the teams best interests at heart, but then I dont mean someone who would then spend millions and millions on players. Looks as if he is leaving at the time of le guens contract, could be a reason for le guen to leave if he wants to go elsewhere... lets just hope its all for the good, you cant blame murray for probably wanting to do other things

i thought Rangers would be a Murray dynasty, with him handing over to his son, but seems unlikely now.
He's done a great job and i have complete faith in him over who he sells the club to if he decides enough is enough

I doubt it would stay as a Murray dynasty because to be perfectly honest, I didn't even know he had a son

It will be sold to the right people. Murray has shown his commitment and love for the club beforehand, no matter what eejits on FF say. If it brings us forward and gives us a cash injection then I am all for it.
Murray will go down as a Rangers legend in years to come.

lol well i think he has two.........
but he said theyre unwilling to go into football because of all the baggage that comes with it, the press analysing your character and all
Tom Hunter is that the fella that him and Clinton are in Africa the now trying to put a end to Poverty , He has gave the country of Africa 100M of his own . Seems a good guy but not sure if he can run a football club certainly loaded and i dont think he would mind putting some of his own money into the club either

Tom Hunter is only linked because he's the only big name Ger who has serious money...
I wouldn't expect him at all...
As for the question Quambo, a fresh face may not be too shabby, but he has to be worth it for Rangers, otherwise Murray will stay on
Heard this other guy with the name Farmer was rumoured

Tom Farmer's a Hibee...
Again though, he's only mentioned as he is a Scot with a bucketload of money

Basically, but that means there is very few buyers left in the current climate, as he won't sell it to any kind of foreign sugar daddy
Allan.

You didn't know he had a son, he now has a grandson, as of yesterday I think.
