I don't know if there is such a thing as an underrated player
But whatever you call them they remain the players that do all the work and get none of the credit
or get very little for their big contribution. One name pops to mind is Surin (Villareal/Argentina)
It upsets me he never gets mentioned around big names

Compared to most wingers you could set your watch by. He was always looking to get involved even if things werent working, and the mixture of sheer pace and ball control made him one of the fastest and most effective dribblers EVER. And i have to agree, not really rated that highly.
My vote goes to Paul McGrath, though with much pushing and shoving, his name is getting more and more in peoples ears and mouths around here anyway!!

Overmars, hmm he is highly appreciated by Arsenal fans i think, or atleast by me, he didnt stay for too long though, and injury cut his career short unfortunately

, i think he is only 33 now

Yes he is
He retired on July 26, 2004 after being continually troubled by a persistent knee injury
It's always the injuries cutting careers short

Only Arsenal supporters truly appreciated his brilliance, his talents were overlooked by a lot of other Premiership supporters. Most Arsenal supporters would rather have Overmars on the left than Pires while both were at their peaks.

Hleb,Xavi and Robinho

I think Xavi is highly rated in Barca and he is worth it when he was out of injury I think I remember most commentators saying that
Robinho too he is highly rated when it comes to european football but when it comes to Brazil.....?!
and so is Cicinho
I agree though about Hleb Great player but hasn't been getting a lot of attention

Robinho was very over-rated by the media before he came to Madrid and before doing anything spectacular. Xavi isn't under-rated. Hleb isn't under-rated by Arsenal fans, but maybe he is by the others.
