INFERNO
Aug 22 2004, 03:51 PM
I had a cool idea. For people that have actually owned and/or played with it, write your thoughts of it and tell people if its worth buying. I'll start it with a few.
Adidas Predator Pulsions: Great buy, 1/2 as expensive as the pulses; you only sacrafice the kangaroo leather for cow leather and a two piece bottom cleat. There are some other differences between the tow such as the inner foor grip patters but other than that you are getting a great boot.
Parker Moldable Shingaurds: These are awesome shingaurds made out of the stuff they make casts at so they they protect you really well and have good impact dispersion. They are very easy to get in and out of but you will need to tape them or buy compression sleves for them.
Cheap Adidas Predator Knock offs: These are good for kids who don't take soccer seriously or they are growing faster then they will wear this boot out. The inner foot tears fast and the synthetic leather isn't the best. Overall its an okay boot but people on this site will probably want a better pair.

I have the silver Beckham Pulses.
Looks: I'll give them a 10/10. Tied with Vapors for best looking boot.
Material: 9/10. K-Leather, but has its downfalls. When it is wet, the leather soaks up the water, and gets heavier. No big deal. They have an outstanding feel though.
Comfort: 10/10. No problems with blisters or anything. They mold to your feet almost immediately.
Traxion: 9/10. Great Traxion but the Manias had better studs. They were a bit higher than the Pulse studs.

If I missed anything, and you want to know something more about them, just ask.

Do those red things on the inside (the things that are supposed to make you swerve the ball better) ever annoy you when your trying to hit the bal in a straight line?
Luca10
Aug 23 2004, 11:42 AM
They aren't red on the silver ones, they're silver.

But no, cuz if you want to shoot straight you use your laces, and those shouldn't even touch the ball when you shoot straight.

unless you try and chip it into the top corner, or even whip it in from distance like beckham himself does, sometimes you might "over grip?"
Luca10
Aug 23 2004, 01:24 PM
What do you mean?
Panna KO
Aug 23 2004, 01:29 PM
I think he might be saying that does it always curl the ball, when you need to kick the ball in a straight line, or maybe do you get too much power in the shot and then the accuracy is sacrificed?
Luca10
Aug 23 2004, 01:43 PM
No it doesn't always put swerve on the ball. All it does is add the swerve that you would get with another shoe.

but guys believe me...luca puts curve on everything....he reminds me like beckham when he kicks (

Adidas F50:
- Leather: 9/10 kanggaroo leather----> very good for kick the ball
-comfort : 3/10 crap comfort...cos i got wide feet so everyone that got wide feet just forget about it.... and it's hurt when you run too so yeah.. i rather choose vapors for that...tight but it's not hurting me when im running
traxion : 8/10 : good stuff for wet or semi dry surface...

okay here it goes, i think we should have a standard structure for all our reviews, so maybe the picture goes first, followd by
name
price--( whether its worth it)
leather/syntathethic leather
comfort
traxtion
durability
feel of the ball
give it to them out of 10, at the end with have overall performance, which is the sum of all 6 of them, which is price, leather, comfort, traxtion, durability and feel of the ball and divided by 6. that way we can get a overalll performance. please write about you cleaning methods and stuff like that if you like!
Luca10
Aug 25 2004, 09:10 AM
Okay I did this already, but since Colin posted the standard structure, I'll just do it again.

Adidas Predator Pulse (Beckham Silver Pulse)
230.00$ CAD (All shoes are overpriced, but when you look at other shoes, it's worth it) 9/10.
Material:K-leather. The best. 9/10.
Comfort: 10/10. No problems with blisters or anything. They mold to your feet almost immediately.
Traxion: 9/10. Great Traxion but the Manias had better studs. They were a bit higher than the Pulse studs.
Durability: 9/10. Very durable. Nothing's happened to mine yet.
Feel of the Ball: 9.5/10. Excellent feel of the ball. But can always improve so I'm giving it a 9.5.
Overall:55.5/60 or 9.25/10.

I don't think you should write a review for a shoe that doesn't fit you because you have wide feet, usw.
That being said, here's an F50 review from someone with narrow feet.
Price- $149.99 (from Eurosport, I paid $160 from the adidas website)
They're worth every penny. These cleats are a front-runner for the best ones out there and they're heaps cheaper than many. 10/10
Material- K-leather. Soft, but doesn't give way. 9/10
Comfort- Depends on what chassis you use. The only complaint I have is that since the chassis aren't fastened, they tend to slide around a bit. It's not as uncomfortable as it sounds. 9/10
Traxion- Tried and true adidas stud placement (same as the preds) 10/10
Durability- Probably the boots weakest point. It wears out rather quick, but it will last you at least a whole season, provided you damage them seriously. 8/10
Feel of the Ball- Especially when you recieve it with the mesh, it has just the right amount of recoil. Prima! 9.5/10
Overall-9.25/10
Great boot. Below are some fotos.

colin you've got F30's havn't you? do they come with different chassis?
Luca10
Aug 26 2004, 11:39 AM
No the F30s don't come with different chassis.
Sony-Fan
Aug 26 2004, 12:22 PM
yeah unfortunately, but come to think of it, besides the design and the split stud thingy, i think thats about it for the diff between the two, and of course the leather by the iner side of the shoe covers more!
but seriouslly, do you think the chasis works?? i dont think so man, i might as wel go down and get myself a Dr.Scholl and buy my self a cheap pair of shoes.
shutoutj
Aug 26 2004, 08:31 PM
Yeah I flipped them Colin. I have a future in photography.

nah...
Anyway, I used to have F30's and I gotta tell you, they're a big step down from the F50's.
I like the chassis thing simply because I have three insoles if one wears out. They're all fine and comfortable.
Sony-Fan
Aug 26 2004, 08:35 PM
heh jon, whats the big diffrence between the two?
shutoutj
Aug 26 2004, 08:56 PM
To make a long story short, they're less comfortable. I have a spot on my foot that's prone to blisters, never bothers me a bit when I wear the F50's but when I wear the F30's it acts up every time.
The f30's are a hassle to tie the laces(yes I'm lazy), because the flap always comes down.
The leather is lower grade and wears out quicker.

Aug 26 2004, 09:13 PM
but besides the blister, its a comfortable shoe to wear right?>>?
im gonna submit my review after im wearing them to play today.

name: Adidas F30
price: originally 50 uk, i got them at less than 25 uk at a sale. 10/10 but if it was 50 uk, i would have given it 7
leather/syntathethic leather: i think its calf leather, but its comfortable and theres a good feel of the ball, i think its easy to clean too. 8/10
comfort: really comfotable. 9/10
traxtion: played on those really slippery indoor pitches, and i must say, good work from adidas 10/10
durability: well, i see that some of the stripes may wear out after a while, but its that is just the facial of it, but never the less, i give it 9.
feel of the ball: good shit 9/10
ok i added this in, my comments, good for some one that dosent want to fork out the extra 50 pounds or so on the cleats, i think its modest for us, as most of us play for fun and arent in any big youth teams around the world.
my average score for it is 9 point something. good buy, for me at least.

Now if any of you have Vapors, I wanna see some reviews on them. C'mon Panna KO, you got Vapors, make a review on them.
