We knew when he came that he may last 3 or 4 years but we didnt know exactly when Dado Prso would eventually give in...

A statement given out today claimed :

Prso fears he is in final season

Rangers striker Dado Prso could be forced to retire through injury at the end of the forthcoming season.
Prso has confirmed that persistent knee problems have forced his retiral from international football after representing Croatia at the World Cup.

And he told the Sportske Novosti daily: "I'm 32, my knee is in bad shape and the end of my soccer career is near."

He has a year left of his contract and added: "I'll sit down then with my family and see what is best for me."

Prso, as he had been last season, again looked Rangers major threat as they defeated Middlesbrough in a pre-season friendly on Saturday, setting up the only goal of the game for Thomas Buffel.

sad.gif I think this may be his last season at Rangers although its not confirmed, the fact that he withdrew from the International squad and has a year left on his contract may see the end of the legend that is Dado Prso... Obviously he is getting old also and the persistet knee problem will add to this and it will be a sad day when he plays his last game for rangers, he gives 110% in everygame and I think I speak for everyone when I say he has been a true hero at rangers the past couple of seasons

well, now no one can say he is taking the easy way out. Dado has been a great servant to ye and he will be a loss, though the real problem could be that this injury could flare up before the season is out, which wouldnt really be a fair way for The Soldier to go out
F6
He will be sadly missed by the rangers support we wont have that great a physical presence upfront thats why i feel we should land Filip Sebo for future purposes. Dado is and always will be remebered as a TRUE BLUE whenever he pulls on the red white blue he give it 110%

Now i think everyone can join me in

THERES ONLY ONE DADO PRSO !
Maurinho
I'm from Croatia so I'm sad that he quit playing for Croatia but I understand that he's knee is a big problem for him. He always gave all for Croatia team so he became one of my favourite players...

THERES ONLY ONE DADO PRSO !

I'd be devestated, but his knee has been troubling him for years

He said he wanted to end his career at Ibrox anyway, but if he has to retire then so be it

Good luck to him, I hope Rangers can keep him on in some kind of capacity if he retires
Allan.
Hopefully they will, but I doubt it unless he goes out and gets his badges.
CaptainCarrots
He doesn't necessarily have to be a coach though, but I can't see where else they would fit him in

It would be the least that the best foreigner in the SPL deserves
Allan.
Can you really see him sitting in an office wearing a suit? Or being a physio?

How funny would that be?

I can see some kind of Hulk-like figure biggrin.gif

He could do TV though for Setanta or such like, it depends how much he wants to stay in Scotland

If Arthur Numan stayed, then I think Dado Prso might just stay too

Dado is staying on for next season !!!!! THIS IS BRILLIANT

Rangers striker Dado Prso is set to put retirement plans on hold and play on into next season.

The 32-year-old Croatian had hinted that knee injury problems would prompt him to quit the game at the end of the current campaign.

But his agent, Ranko Stojic, told Daily Record PM: "Dado wants to stay and I have had good dialogue with the club.

"They also want him to stay because, not only is he good on the field, he is inspirational off it as well."

Yeah, great news

Read it on Sky sports!

The Dado is an absolute warrior, and a title next year would be fitting of him

Prso given all-clear to play on

Dado Prso is hopeful of extending his stay at Ibrox
Rangers striker Dado Prso has been told he can carry on playing for at least one more season.

The 32-year-old Croatian, who is out of contract in the summer, has been dogged by a persistent knee injury and was seen by a specialist on Tuesday.

Agent Ranko Stojic told the Daily Record: "Dado has been told he can play on for a minimum of one more season.

"Dado wants to play on for as long as possible and he is feeling much better than he was a few weeks ago."

The former Monaco forward retired from international football after last year's World Cup.

And he has been missing with a hamstring injury since 13 January.

"He will see how things go between now and the end of the season but the doctor has said there are no risks for him or his club and there are no problems," added Stojic.

Exclusive! Prso To Quit Ibrox

By Emma Dodds

DADO PRSO will leave Rangers at the end of the season and decide this summer if he'll retire from football altogether, following the news he cannot continue to play at the highest level.

Dado PrsoThe Croatian visited his specialist earlier this week for an examination on his injured knee and was given the news he had been fearing.

The 32-year-old has suffered ongoing problems with his knee for some years and his career has been guided by the trusted doctor back in France.

Unfortunately for both Prso and Rangers, the diagnosis this time was not good and as a result the Light Blue hero will now leave the club when his contract expires at the end of this season.

Although this moment was inevitable, an emotional Prso admitted he found the news hard to take and is devastated at having to leave Rangers.

Speaking exclusively Prso said: "I see my specialist every year and I went to see him earlier this week for our usual appointment.

"He told me that the situation with my knee is not getting any better and as a result I will need more and more rest.Dado Prso

"That is why I have decided that I won't be able to play on at Rangers next season.

"It's so frustrating for me. I knew I would have to stop playing one day, but that doesn't make it any easier once that time comes.

"I have spoken to the coach about my decision and it was a sad feeling."

There is a possibility Prso will be able to continue playing in some capacity in a less taxing league and that is a decision he will make in the summer.

Dado Prso celebrates after scoringBut his injury woes this season and the inability to produce his absolute top form have contributed to his decision to call it a day in the SPL now.

The Croatian is loved for his whole-hearted style and never-say-die attitude and is determined not to cheat himself or the club next term.

He added: "This season has been very difficult for me. I have had a lot of injuries and it's been tough.

"For next year the specialist told me I will need even more rest and that makes it difficult for me to continue at this level.

"That is why I think it is better for everybody that I see out my contract in the summer.Dado Prso celebration

"I have loved my time here and believe me I tried to put this off as long as possible, always thinking 'maybe next year, maybe next year.'

"But I cannot push it back any longer and I know in myself that another year for Rangers would be very hard.

"For the club also, I don't want to be here if I can't produce my top form."
Allan.
Anyone else feel we should give him a testimonial? He hasn't been here for a great number of years, but he's been a great.
F6
Well some sort of tribute to the big man would be good , dont know how though . I will miss the big man

One Dado Prso , theres only one Dado Prso , One Dado Prso

TREV-Y100
IF WE CANT GIVE THE BIG MAN A TESTAMONIAL I WOULD DEFINATELY HAVE IN IN THE HALL OF FAME .

Allan.
Where would the money come from, Murray isn't going to allow us to spend an awefull lot of money. He'll only aloow us to spend the prize money from this season, and a tiny bit of his own. There's no prize money from this season...
CaptainCarrots
Theres still last seasons CL money somewhere....

I said months ago one of the new kits would be Purple, so thats my story biggrin.gif
Allan.
Will we get that, why didn't they use that last season?

My story is... I said Sebo was overhyped thumbsup.gif
CaptainCarrots
Well rumour has it that Le Guen only spent what he felt was necessary...including 1.8million for Sebo
TREV-Y100
Murray will have to take a gamble and splash the cash hoping to get it back in prize money clapping.gif
CaptainCarrots
I thought id let you all know that in honour of the big man, I will be stealing my girlfriends extension ponytail and tying a bandage round my head for the Dado's last game at Ibrox biggrin.gif
Allan.
