Dont know about everyone else but im not too disheartened at celtics signings thus far.Im still not sure if Miller will get the 20 goals a season that he has been signed for, but his work rate yesterday was exceptional. He ran himself into the ground against everton and did really well.Jarosik didnt have a good game yesterday but after watching him last season for birmingham, ive got no doubts that he will be a quality player for the hoops.Im also not sure on caldwell, but I might be biased cos i cant wait for big kennedy.......kennedy to return. But the new signing that i have been most impressed with so far is Evander Sno.I really do think that this guy can become a celtic great.Hes only 19 and already he looks sort of like a Roy Keane style midfielder. His disribution is second to none and this was proved with the magnificent pass which set up the goal in the everton game.Let me know what you all think and whether you agree or disagree.
I think the clubs signings this year show we want the league and only the league, more money needs to be put into the club to challange in europe, and i think we will be heading for an early eroupean exit again ( i hope i am very wrong here). To win a contract with the hoops these days you have to be on a free or dragged out of retirement (sp?) and thats annoying. Strachen is really embarrassing us enquring into players like jimmy flloyd H, Patrick Klivert and thomas gravson if he is just going to give time wasting offers. Now for the players we did sign, yesterday was the best performance from kenny miller in the hoops and im hoping he proves to be a lot better than i already think of him( which isn't 'celtic class').
Jarosik i think will get better and better for us and i have been impressed with evander sno aswell and have very high hopes for this guy too. Caldwell seems to be settling more and more every game he gets which is good, but i think we really should have sorted out our left back problem before the long tour started to have our back four prepared for the new season, i also agree with you in hoping to see john kennady back in the hoops soon, but can only hope he comes back with the same impact he left us with.. two years out is a long time. I see from reading your report you haven't noticed our other new 'striker' as he has been wasted on the left wing in both occassions he has played for us, thats young derek riordan. If he does get tried in his proper position i think he will provide a good competition with kenny to partner Magic up front. All in all i think we can look forward to the domestic treble, and have to wait another while on the european cup
