It's in the new gear thread, but Red Star's kit launch had a bucketload of other nike teams behind it, including the frankly horrible green and black striped kit
Question is, is this the "Domestic" Away kit, or is that the 3rd strip?

I saw some guy at the local soccer match the other weekend wearing that same celtic jersey. thought it was a fake but i didn't ask him. guess i am proven wrong.

It would have been fake, because obvously it hasn't been released yet, and their were pictures flying around with it a month or so ago.

I actually think the strip is real.I remember a couple of months ago that there was an article in the daily record saying that someone somehow had this top and was trying to flog it on ebay.Celtic were supposed to have been hugely embarrassed by this and tried to cover it up.I think it will be getting released at some point in the near future.By the way, am I the only person who seems to like this "new" black and green strip?lol.
Allan.
Jul 26 2006, 10:18 AM
Nah, hundreds of them were sold on Ebay and all came from China or wherever. I think it looks better their than in the initial pictures a few months ago, but its not the best you've had.

Does anyone have a pic of the 1 from a few months back, i may be wrong but from what i can remember it looked like the stripes going down were thinner/ there were more stripes??
I like the top, has anyone seen the full kit?

Just looking at the green and black stripes on that shirt is giving me a migrane...
If that is Celtic's away strip it would make it the worst strip in the SPL bar none.

teams have had 3 strips for years, with 1 being used solely as a European top, ie Man U and Liverpool. Celtic are merely rebranding by calling it the "international away kit", plainly means we'll wear it on European away nights. the green and black strip is THE away top

Yeah, still doesn't make it right though
Home, Away and Third does just fine, no need to pull the wool by calling it an "international" away
Nike have lost the plot...
Although in saying that, Ajax have 2 home kits, a "traditional" one minus 3 stripes for Domestic and one with the stripes for Europe

Wonder how many celtic fans will get that on the back ...anyone on the forum gonna get that on the back then
thorpeyy.
Aug 30 2006, 12:08 PM
Might settle for VoH.
If you do go to JJB its only a tenner for ANY name and number when you buy it from them , Post a pic if you do get it mate
thorpeyy.
Aug 30 2006, 01:59 PM
Well if my Dad can get 2 tickets together for the Old Firm game, i'll probably be going up for that and i'll try and convince my Dad to go halves on the shirt then i might pop into JJB and get "VoH - 10" on the back.
I think to get the full name is a bit too much because it looks a bit wierd on anyone else but him.
Ach you will stand out mate , i doubt there only will be a small amount of fans wearing that on the back of there top . I think alot of the fans might like the idea of getting a top with that name on the back . It will be one of those tops you pull out in a few years time and after a 15 secs of reading you go aaaahhh... i remember that player . If the guy is going to be a success at parkhead i think alot of fans will get him on the back !

My mate went to parkhead yesterday and inquired about getting VoH on the back and they said that they are getting a bigger transfer machine so they can fit his name on whilst doing shirt printing . As the normal size machines are to small for his name !
I noticed that against Aberdeen VoH wore spl lettering but it wasnt the adult lettering you see on the other players shirts . It was the child lettering that they use on the small children shirts . They didnt need to curve it at all

I thought i seen it curved?
Makes sense though, to have it on one line and tiny, as long as TV can pick up the number i dont think its much of an issue
Schweinsteiger was wearing little letters tonight

it was curved at first but Celtic got a supply of smaller letters which he wore against Aberdeen.

Has anyone else got the striped away shirt yet?
My Dad got me it from Parkhead today and it's a medium yet it feels kinda small when my home shirt is a medium and that's huge!
Just wondering if the away felt generally smaller this year?

Yeah, i live in England and was born in England but Celtic is my main team generally through most of my family supporting them and i've just followed suit.
And no i don't like getting printing because,
1. The shirts cost enough as it is especially when you prefer the long sleeve version
2. I think printing makes it too personal for wearing about down town or summat.

Only about 2/3 times a season. It's hard to get 2 tickets together and it's also a 10 hour round trip so yer know.
Allan.
Sep 26 2006, 12:44 PM
16 hour round trip for me(on a bus, same with a train but theres a bigger gap between the trains), but takes 18 hours altogether because theres a 1 or 2 hours between the busses in Inverness.
Sucks, but I still go to Glasgow 2 or 3 (somtimes 5) times a year, not always to a game though
Good stuff lads , and thorpey the question about england expected sig was ...if you live in england ...your english so why have that sig ...Or are you a scotland man
