i thought this could be an intresting topic
ill start things off, my worst injury has to be last february when i was playing indoor football and landed awkwardly on my elbow which broke the elbow in two places then the force shot up my arm and fractured the top of my arm and broke and dislocated my shoulder crying_new.gif
not bad for one fall eh
DutchFanatic
ironic.
I also got injured at a indoor soccer game..
broke my foot which gave me a cast from my toes up to my knee..
it sucked..

but I was the topscorer biggrin.gif and indoor soccer is great biggrin.gif

Luckily, I have never broken any bones playing football, I've had the odd hack on the shin or ankle which hurt for a few days or whatever but my worst injury has happened a few times and it's always my own fault. It was my knee...I jarred it a few times whilst stopping suddenly when sprinting. Then I can barely walk without a sharp pain in my kneecap for ages. It stops you playing football for at least a fortnight, if you want it to properly heal.

man ive injured my metatarsal and i have fractured one of my toes they both took three weeks to recover
but i still have a injury on my foot wich appears to trouble once a while
caniggit
i was tackled like keane on haaland when i was 15 - tore my anterior cruciate ligaments - didnt play for a year.

at 17 i was victim of a sick tackle from behind - tore my cartlidge and strained my medial ligaments - didnt play for 8 months

at 21, and only last weekend, fell awkwardly like michael owen in the world cup and strained my medial ligaments. told i wont play for 6 weeks.

all three injuries were in my left knee and resulted in being released by a professional club at 18. i play for a semi-pro team now and hopefully this latest little setback wont ruin this season!
Richardinho
unlucky mate sounds like your just one of those injury cursed players, what club did you play for?

The first day of practice for my school team last year I received an unfortunate blow in a collision between the keeper and a defender with the result being a "deep muscle contusion" in my right leg. I felt pretty severe pain for at least 2 months and I can still "feel" it when I wake up at times.

Lately I've been recovering from a pulled groin. I tried playing after about a month and re-pulled it. Since then I've just been pushing it too much and only lately have I truly been recovering from it. It's been 4 months but finally I can see myself really recovering..

One word of advice, especially for a pulled groin or hamstring, never "think" your good enough to play; they are delicate injuries and attempting to play will only severely prolong your time out, much like myself.

i got picked up by arsenal at age 9 - even though i support man utd!

played a couple of times for the reserves when i was 17. played for england schoolboys at 14 and 15, east anglia as well. stayed with the club for all the rehab but was released a couple of months after i recovered.

decided to go to uni instead. now at 21 i play for a ryman league side. just another player in a long list that could have played at a higher level.

hmmmm, my list of injuries:

broken left wrist x 3
broken left hand fingers x4
broken left hand thumb x1
snapped left elbow x1
broken ribs x2
broken nose x2

worse ones were the ribs, or the wrists, now my left wrist is fuked up and can only bend slightly less than normal either way and have a small lump sticking out (bones set wrong in cast). so yea, they are probably my worst injuries. and yea, im only 15..... dry.gif
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
^ fuck, are you an underaged ultimate fighting championship fighter or something? haha... that's pretty unfortunate. Fortunately for me, injuries haven't been too horrible for me, besides sprained ankles a few years ago and breaking my finger a few months ago playing futbol sala... the only time I played my most hated position of goalkeeper
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think I almost broke my left wrist today. I was just kicking around the ball with my roommates in the parking lot, and when you try to do fancy shit on concrete, you're bound to get hurt

Bahaha. I know exactly what you mean. The amount of times we'll be waiting for a mate to come and pick us up to go out, or anything, somebody will bring out one of those small skill balls. We'll start kicking it around, showing off and one of us will slip doing something extravagant and injure ourselves. Everytime, never fails.

Worse still if you slip on the ball and land flat on your face.

Concusion, broken wrist, torn ankle ligaments, muscle ripping on thigh... I play hard biggrin.gif

I've been relatively lucky compared to most of you guys with some of your serious injuries. I've had:

-ankle sprain
-bruised/cut ankles
-about 3-4 times my big toes have had the nails broken off and had to have surgery as a result
-2-3 torn groin muscles, and
-I threw my back rib muscles and shoulder blade out so bad that I could barely breathe or stand up and had to stay bed ridden for a couple days. Going back to work was so difficult because I was so uncomfortable and could barely move. Took a couple weeks to heal.
newuxtreme
broken finger once

BUT iv sprained my ankle 3 times and each time i hve been out for 6 weeks and im currently in my 5th week of not playing real footy.
makes the ankle come out in a swollen/odd way which looks pathetic.

my parents always blame me or it when i always try to explain that its always potholes here and there and u dont have a good field here in india.on top of that my parent want me to stop playing and stopped treatment(theyre both doctors). so i was limping everywhere the 1st week.

other than that iv had wuite a few nasty tackles and one broken wrist that too without treatment.

a couple of years ago i broke my leg and got a cast from my toes to my ass. i was supposed to be able to play in 4 months, but after 2 months a broke it the same place because it was healed. i was out of football for 10 months in total.

then, after having played football for 9 months i broke my ankle. i was out of football for 2 1/2 months, but this injury affected my carrier much more than the 10 months.

lol nope, just rather unfortunate you could say, most of them are through playing football so i dont mind, but i spose, what doesnt kill you can only make you stronger...unless you do it again and again ofcorse dry.gif

hmm, its worse if your in a hurry to get to the door and you jump down the stairs from the very top and snap your wrist because you forgot to hold on.....

Broke my shin in a 50-50 challenge out for 4 months. Having a broken leg in footy season is really depressing.
THFC 4 LIFE
summer tournaments last year was 1 on 1 wid keeper and gt taken out 4rm behind broke and dislocated my shoulder out for 2 months
ErnestEnzo
I never break stuff. But I got my rib badly hurt while being on a banana boat on my holidays two weeks ago so I've got problems in the pre-season now.

And I have got two scar lines on me left foot.. It were nops from some opponent cutting in my skin while I made a tackle. It happened on a tournament in the first match but I still played last two matches lol. The scars are forever because the wounds were very deep, I like the story and do not mind them.

I've never been injured funnily enough, not even close... interesting... g.gif

Neither have I, or actually once.
It started with the Goalie firing off from his goal. The ball went high, and was going to land right in front of me. I fired of right away and made probebly one of my hardest ever shot. Rigth into an opponent knee and straight back into my head wich made me fall right down only hearing an ohhh from the people watching. I started bleeding and hade to leave the pitch to get some medical check.

After the incident I got very sleepy and got a small headache, but still I played three more matches that day, the next only one hour later.

The funny thing is that I have never played better than that day, being so good that the coach didn't mind me just sitting and watching the rest warming up(i was freezing, probebly a small concussion), before walking into the pitch when the match started.

-Sparky-
Torn hamstring
Dislocated shoulder
Broken the same ankle twice
Broken wrist and thumb (rugby)

rosicky89

AxedByMe
I fractured my metatarsal while swimming, i was walkin around the pool to get warmed up, but some retard threw like a solid chlorine which is as hard as a friggin rock and hit me good on my right foot
arsenax
I played too much football with my flat feet without support and I ended up spraining my ankle and growing a bone the size of a marble near each achilles tendon which grew in order to support my flat feet...it hurt like hell untill I stopped playing for two months. dry.gif
Typo
I really don't get a lot of injuries but I just got one recently where I was running with no shoes on and I didn't notice this mat and my toe hit it. My toe bent down and did something to the point where It hurts when I'm not doing anything. It's getting better now though.

My worst injury has to be a spazzem in the back of my leg, I'd been feeling a twitch in it for a whole game and at the end it just went and went into a spazzem for some unforseen reason. Quite embarresing inf front of friends but there you go.
h o t s p u r
for me it was breaking my arm i two places, bringing the bone up at a 40degree angle. i needed an op to put it back into place. i was only playing playground footy when it happened though.
JaMEsY BOi
ive broke my ankle when it got caught in the ground during a match, couldnt believe it i was meant to have trials for a semi pro side like a week after it happend. still cant kick a ball with my left foot without it hurting. crying_new.gif

i also broke 3 ribs, and shatterd my knuckle because i punched the goal post when we conceded a goal in the finals of some tournament, was'nt the smartest thing to do
crzygrmn
the pitch was extremely muddy and when i went in for a tackle i slipped and completely snapped my arm in half, broke right through both of the bones

Popped both of my hips out of place doing triple jump at track, while having shin splints. I still have the shin splints, but I went to the chiropractor for my hips!
