Its probably due to the risk involved! and also F1 in particular is full of money! sponsorship income must be huge! I heard (not sure if it is true) that F1 drivers have to spend so much money to even get a chance to sign for an F1 team. I have not checked so that may not be true!

true.. Narain Karthikeyan our Indian F1 test driver was driving for Jordan last year.... and just to be able to drive for them he had to run around finding sponsors to fund Jordan to the tune of i think it was $2.5 million!!.. he is not so rich at all... he earned around $250,000 last year and thats peanuts in the world of F1!!!
he wasnt selected for his "talent" he was driving for Jordan because he was able to cough up enough sponsorship money!!

Yeah but Bill Gates worked hard and built himself ane empire he doesnt just kick a ball around (not what i think, what people who say ootballers are overpaid say). Also football is a team game and there are so many players in a team they cant get paid millions like Tiger etc for winning things. also alot of the money sprtmen/women earn is sponsorship etc not just salary.
It boggles my mind to see baseball players paid so much. They're barely athletes man, all they do is stand around all day, take steroids, scratch their balls and once in a while walk around when they hit a home run (thanks to the dope).

Yeah most of the money is sponsorship money. Thats business, and if they are successful enough to get paid tens of millions in sponsorships then they deserve it.
No such thing as being overpaid. The only people in this world who are overpaid are the homeless people and lazy jobless on the dole who have contributed nothing to society.
