How good is Ghana's midfield? With the likes of Muntari, Appiah, Essien and Draman this could and probably is the best in Africa. By 2010, Ghana will be one of the best teams in the world. Think I'm joking? Just you wait and see.

Ghana are a fine team....obviously...but I still think they will bow down to their West African neighbors...Ivory Coast and Cameroon....and of course....their bitter rivals....and obvious superiors...the Super Eagles...who they have not beaten in 14 years.

i personally think ghana will be a side to be reckoned with for a while

they put out a great showing at the world cup with the youngest side in the world cup

I have become a huge Ghana fan now after attending the Ghana - USA match. Honestly, I think they are one of the top teams in Africa, they just lack finishing. Their passing and team work was sooooo nice its unmatchable.

There's no doubt that Ghana's strength is in the middle but they're missing a Yeboah or Abedi Pele kind of player upfront. If they bolster their frontline, they will be more of a force.

They've always been one of Africa's top sides by the way...four Nations Cup trophies attest to that.

They might overtake Cameroon but I dont see them beating Ivory Coast nor Nigeria.

ya...It slightly annoys me how the European media has displayed Ghana and Ivory Coast as these sudden stories of success...Ghana were a great team who were on the rocks for a few years.....while Ivory Coast simply underperformed all those years since 1992....though I have questioned why the Ivorians, Nigerians, and Cameroonians have a plethora of strikers...while Ghana maybe have ONE decent player in Asamoah Gyan.

In this world cup, no african team was complete. In my opinion, Ivorycoast had the best attack, ghana best midfield, angola best defence and tunisia best keeper. Togo were just crap.

That pretty much sums it up. What everyone needs to remember is that it takes a long time to build consistent success. Look at the US, they had one really great WC in 2002, and all of the sudden every writer was ranking them in top 5- Crap, just crap. You cannot sustaint consistent success in international play without a stable and competitive domestic league. The countries that most frequently compete at the Fifa WC are England, France, Italy, Germany, Brasil and Argentina. Other countries like Spain and Holland also make good runs and are forces to be reckon with. And they all have great domestic leagues. I've noticed that in the last 15 years the Mexican league has gotten better, and in my opinion, their national team is clearly more competitive.
Africa has amazing talents. In fact, with the evolution of better domestic leagues, Africa will be superior to Europe in producing talent. (not better than S.America thou. . slow down there, I can't give you my homeland, I have to defend S.America) But I digress, the reason we don't see complete teams come out of Africa is b/c their domestic leagues have to be run better and more stable. Hosting the WC in 2010 will do amazing wonders for Afrika. IMO, Nigeria will be among the 5 favorites in 2010. Too many talents at the youth level to be ignored. Man, Argentina was lucky that we had Messi in the 2005 youth WC.

Before the WC i always have faith in this team, i know they could do it well, and they do it ok, beating 2 good teams like usa and especially czech, i'am sure they could have done it into the 1/4 if it was not for Brazil.

My idol when i was young was Anthony Yeboah so it's normal thing to support Ghana even if i'am Spanish.

Watch out of Ghana and Ivory Coast in the world cup of 2010 in South-Africa rolleyes.gif
